"'We' heard about an exhibit in Copake Falls about camps 'in the area' from the 1920's, and on. One thing led to another and 'We' decided that this was the time for a camp reunion. I immediately Gooogled 'Houses in Copake', and lo and behold, this beautiful house, right on, what we knew as Lake Rhoda (now Upper Rhoda Pond) appeared before me. This was almost unbelievable as most of us had not been back to West Copake for a good 50 years. So, after much arranging, 7 of us made our way, as far as Nashville and Colorado to our beloved lake. The house welcomed us with open arms, and the lake, as if we had never left. We almost immediately took out one of the canoes and made our way around the lake. We ate outside on the deck with a well stocked kitchen to make us feel right at home. We chose our BR's easily, as there were 2 sets of Sisters who shared a bed. The next day, we had about 20 people at the house for lunch, and between the outdoor spaces to sit, the welcoming size of the house, nothing ever felt crowded. The BR's were lovely, clean and cozy. Saturday night 3 more people stayed over and they too, were just as comfortable in the Gurst House. We did not get a chance to go swimming, although the lake was warm, we simply were not there long enough. The whole process of renting the house was easy, due to the professionalism of the rental agent/property manager. I do believe that each of us would go back in a heartbeat, and HAPILY stay for more than a weekend."

"It was a very pleasant stay although I got a cold and couldn't do much. It is a small place, very cozy with all the necessary comforts and more. It feels very secluded but it's a couple of minutes drive from the center of Woodstock. We saw a lot of animals right outside our door which was fun for my 2 year old. The owners are super friendly and accommodating. They even mailed us my son's teddy bear that we had left behind. Much appreciated!!"

"We reserved Hardenburg Road for the week of our daughter’s wedding. Three of us arrived four days in advance. It was dark when we pulled in but as soon as we found all the light switches we were delighted. The kitchen was the largest and best equipped I have experienced in either a vacation rental or a timeshare. There was plenty of room for my sister’s family when they arrived. A crib was provided for her grandson and the six-year old granddaughter made full use of the jungle gym. We grilled out and then relaxed around the fire pit. Once the house filled up, it was especially nice for the parents of the bride to have the spacious master suite as a private retreat. Donna was a great host, responsive to our e-mails, providing alternate routes and answers to our questions. The wedding was spectacular. Hardenburg Road was a close second."

"My friends and I stayed at the house while attending a wedding in the area. The owner was very friendly, flexible, and helpful. The decor is bold, quirky, and just right. The planter/sculpture in the living room was a big hit, as were the smattering of stuffed animals. There were plenty of kitchen wares, board games, and towels. I loved the fire and seating area by the water and the round booth in the kitchen. There is a screened outdoor dining room, but there were no mosquitoes, so we lounged and dined on the patio. We got out on the water with the float and canoe--what could be better? There are other houses around the pond, but the house feels private, and everyone is there for more or less the same reason. There is plenty of easy parking, and the supermarket isn't too far. The few downsides: The one fold-out bed could stand replacement with a "real" bed. Some sinks and showers had low water pressure. The electric stove could be a drawback for the picky chef. It's a special spot, a world of relaxation. Highly recommended."
