"We stayed for four nights over Thanksgiving weekend and could not be more pleased. The cottage interior is more charming and comfortable than the photos indicate. It was cold outside so we couldn't use the amazing deck overlooking the lake, but the cottage interior is bathed in the most beautiful light, so that you feel a real connection with the outdoors. It has a good heating system so we stayed toasty even with outside temps below freezing. The property owners have a home on the property and were onsite but respected our privacy. We were especially happy to find a property that not only welcomes, but embraces dogs. There was even a little basket of dog toys tucked in the corner. Having said that, the cottage was immaculate and would be fine even if you are not a dog owner. In it's current setup, it is ideal for a couple. The galley kitchen is small but we found everything we needed to do a Thanksgiving dinner for two. Many thanks!"Guest: K and P from NYC Date of Stay: November 2013 Review Submitted: December 5, 2013View listing
"We found the isolated, quiet, location to be lovely and relaxing, but only a short scenic drive from nearby stores and restaurants. And just down the way from "our" farm stand. Coming from crowded Brooklyn, it was wonderful for us to have so much space to spread out. Our family spent many hours playing in the yard and relaxing on the front porch. The house is very clean and well equipped. Lyn provided lots of helpful information about the surrounding area and was always available by phone/text to answer questions. We would happily return for more country adventures. I recommend the meadow walk at the nature preserve in Germantown and a visit to the Clermont estate."Guest: Familyof4 Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 22, 2014View listing
"We enjoyed our stay and were able to write some lovely music during our getaway. The owners were both responsive and responsible when it came to our needs, questions, and requests. Overall, an enjoyable time. Thanks again! :-)"Guest: Amanda B. Date of Stay: January 2014 Review Submitted: February 5, 2014View listing
"Just perfect for my husband and I to celebrate a quiet weekend alone! The house was clean and inviting! Very impressed by it being so well stocked. We bought charcoal and wood and found it there in the shed already, so we used that and were happy to leave ours behind for the next guests. We spent the first day grilling on the outside deck and later roasted s'mores in the fire pit! We drove into Saugerites and Woodstock which was a very short drive to both! The next day we spent at the Hudson Valley Wine and Food festival. We hurried home in the evening to catch the sunset on the back deck, and then we proceeded to end the night with appetizers and cocktails at the Lazy Swan right down the street. Drinking coffee on the deck and watching the horses next door was priceless in the way of peace and quiet. Bed was comfortable and we're early birds so we could appreciate the wake up call from the rooster next door! The owners were helpful and I would recommend this property and have already! Not to mention my husband and I will most definitely be returning."Guest: Deb Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 11, 2014View listing
