  • For a serene and beautiful escape from the City!

"Came here for a few days to enjoy the quiet surroundings and beauty of the surrounding area and was not disappointed. The house is lovely and well-equipped for comfort and cooking your own meals. Cute kitchen and comfy family room with skylights and lots of windows that allow you to enjoy the wooded view. Not far from Kent, CT and other small hamlets in NY state. Check out the nearby farmer's markets in summer! I rode my bicycle easily into Kent for breakfast one morning - lovely ride. Great perks: dog friendly if approved by owner; fireplace that owner allows you to use (as of this writing); baby grand piano (I enjoyed practicing while there); ample patio with well-maintained grill and wood stove for cool evenings outside. I must add that the owner is lovely and accommodating, with a warm sense of humor. She holds your comfort and satisfaction in high regard."

  • Wonderful Retreat!

"We stayed at Arborcrest for four days while attending a workshop at the Omega Institute. This studio space is beautiful and comfortable, just as the photos show. It is conveniently located near Rhinebeck but quite secluded and private, surrounded on three sides by woods. The owner is delightful and quite a marvelous hostess, making sure the kitchen was stocked with the kind of teas, coffees, and milk we prefer. The area is filled with hiking trails and places of historical interest. We especially enjoyed exploring the Franklin Roosevelt home and Presidential museum/library. We highly recommend this rental and will definitely return for another stay."

  • Perfect Retreat for Rest and Exploration!

"I had the pleasure of spending two weeks on retreat at this lovely property in late September/early October, a beautiful time to watch the colors emerge and partake of the region's celebrations of autumn. My hosts were welcoming, responsive, helpful and all-around great. The description is exactly what I found upon arriving and the apartment is cozy, very pleasant, and sweet. I was traveling alone, but I expect to return with my husband at some time in the future; the location is ideal as it is so close to the Red Hook town center and yet the feeling of country pervades. The two outdoor sitting areas are a plus, and with coffee cup in hand, you can listen to the birds and enjoy the crickets at night. I definitely recommend this as a gem to settle into for a weekend, and longer!"

  • Nature Lover's Paradise

"All the prior reviews describe this lovely retreat to a tee. Our stay was in the early spring so the lilac bushes outside the bedroom window wafted throughout the rooms – it was heaven!! We watched the mother & father robins tend their nest in the vegetation next to our private patio – not to mention the never ending call of the cardinal, red-wing blackbirds and so many other wild birds! We very rarely saw another living soul so it was like we had our own cottage on a very unique hilltop in the countryside!! Not a decibel of human noise/activity was ever experienced. At night, be sure to turn on the overhead Moroccan lantern in the main room and enjoy the wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable patterns on the ceiling cast by the lanterns patterns – just 1 of the many enjoyable features of this lovely cottage and so splendidly presented to us by our gracious and kind hosts."
