  • Perfect Anniversary Celebration!

"Just perfect for my husband and I to celebrate a quiet weekend alone! The house was clean and inviting! Very impressed by it being so well stocked. We bought charcoal and wood and found it there in the shed already, so we used that and were happy to leave ours behind for the next guests. We spent the first day grilling on the outside deck and later roasted s'mores in the fire pit! We drove into Saugerites and Woodstock which was a very short drive to both! The next day we spent at the Hudson Valley Wine and Food festival. We hurried home in the evening to catch the sunset on the back deck, and then we proceeded to end the night with appetizers and cocktails at the Lazy Swan right down the street. Drinking coffee on the deck and watching the horses next door was priceless in the way of peace and quiet. Bed was comfortable and we're early birds so we could appreciate the wake up call from the rooster next door! The owners were helpful and I would recommend this property and have already! Not to mention my husband and I will most definitely be returning."

  • Perfect place to unwind and escape the busy city life!

"My work schedule this summer has been so overwhelming, I've barely had time to spend with my family. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get out of work mode even for a short vacation, but I felt less stressed as soon as I walked onto the property. It was a beautiful day so I sat outside on the pool deck while my daughter found the playset and ran around on the grass. Beyond this part of the yard is a field with a path that leads to a stream. I spent almost all of the next day reading there on the bench. It was so relaxing to have some time to myself while my husband took our daughter horse-back riding in Rhinebeck. We watched a movie in the theatre-style room at night and I almost fell asleep on the couch! The master bedroom, however, was even nicer than I expected. The owner was super accommodating when we had questions about the hot tub and internet, and every aspect of my family's experience there was lovely!"

  • Third Time Is A Charm

"Well we returned and the stay was just as it was the last two visits. The only downside was that Hilary was not home but that didn't change our stay. We missed Hilary but she had the place still as beautiful, clean and nice as if she were there. I laugh because I love this home but I also fear writing such great reviews. When I want to return it will probably be booked. This was our first trip in the spring and the weather was great. The views of the Hudson were amazing to see every morning. The apartment has everything. The kitchen is well stocked and we used the electric grill every night. The place is as clean as the pictures show and there are no trick shots-what you see is what you get. We have stayed on vacations at different hotels all over but it is just that-a hotel. This home is a friends home allowing you all the privacy or interaction you want with the owner. The fireplace, screened in room off the bedroom, chairs and hammock on the porch just made our short stay so much more enjoyable. It is so much fun to go away and do nothing or do a lot of running around and knowing when it is time to go back to your place to sleep it is not the end of your fun for the day. Hilary has made this apartment such a peaceful and tranquil place to rest your head. I travel to different places a few times a year and this place is one place that is always on the calendar. Funny as I think about this last trip I have been here in 2012, 2013 and now in 2014. I plan on another trip in 2014 and more in years to come. I have to say that this home is my favorite place to visit when I just want to get away. Besides the home, there is a Super Stop and Shop within 10 minutes and the town to shop in quaint stores. After leaving the house on my way back to "reality" I always say see you soon to the apartment rather than this was a nice trip. Hilary has a sign in guest book and if you get to stay there just read our comments in October 2012, July 2013 and April 2014. Thank you again Hilary. Tom, Jacki and Desi"

  • A casual but elegant retreat to re-charge

"My family rented the stone cottage in Kent Lakes for a month this summer. It was an opportunity for me to write from a more peaceful location and allow my family to escape the hustle of the City. While we wanted something in the country and low key, we didn't want to "rough it" in a more typical summer house kind of way. The stone cottage didn't disappoint as it is truly elegant and a restful retreat. The master suite could easily be featured in a style magazine. It was also amazingly convenient from a travel/commute perspective given the proximity to the Taconic State Parkway and the Southeast train station. It was very easy for my husband to get back into the City for work."
