  • Cozy home in the center of Hamptons

"Cozy home in the center of Hamptons next to a canal with a private dock. The house is clean with all the furnishings. Internet is sometimes slow Making calls are also hard but for local calls you can ask the owner to use his landline phone. It has a cool nice breeze. We stayed for one week so we used her maid Erica 3 times for $ 50 for 2 hours. It was great to come back to a clean kitchen; laundry done and beds made. It was worth every penny. Shopping and restaurants are nearby. Turn left on Montauk highway go to Pikes Beach in West Hampton or turn right on Montauk go to Hampton Bays Beach We also went to Coopers Beach and dining in East Hamptons. It was a good vacation. We met Lance a local resident who gave us good company"

  • Movie Star House

"I searched far and wide for a house to act as the centerpiece of a feature film I planned to shoot in the fall of 2014 called, "We Only Know So Much." The multigenerational family dramedy required a big beautiful house with lots of history but I soon found that most of the large homes on the East End have been renovated into a generic, aspirational, designer blandness. And then I found Matthew and Barbara's gem on Ocean Road. The house is dripping with timeless charm and beautiful historic detail. From the giant old apple tree on the sprawling grounds to the wide plank wood floors and sunny kitchen with the long white table, the place offered classic beauty everywhere the camera was pointed. If you want to experience the traditional Hamptons of the old guard, with a few necessary modern conveniences, just a few hundred yards from the ocean, this is where you want to be. You can see for yourself when the movie is released in 2015."

  • The best house in long island for a large group to have a beautiful retreat

"We have rented this wonderful family home two years in a row for our annual retreat. It is a truly beautiful and deeply special property that has given us great joy during our stays. The house sits on 8 acres of private park-like land on the water, with many deer and other wildlife sightings, and enjoys unbelievable sunrise and sunset views. The house is perfect for both winter and summer occasions, and has a wonderful kitchen for cooking big meals. The pool house is beautifully designed and looks out over the bay - a perfect place for gatherings. Every bedroom is very comfortable has an en-suite bathroom, which is rare for a house of this size. You can pull up boats with shallow hulls to the dock, and the house has several kayaks to take advantage of the bay. You can also go fishing or clamming. Fire Island is a short kayak trip or boat ride across the bay and has amazing beaches. So the house is perfect for those who want to sit by the pool or the fire, and perfect for those who like to be active. Everyone who has stayed at this house with us went home joyful and refreshed, and cannot wait to return. The owners and the property caretaker are incredibly gracious and helpful, and could not be easier to coordinate with. We highly recommend this property for any gathering, large or intimate, and consider it a real privilege to have been able to enjoy this one-of-a-kind home two years in a row."
