"Our family enjoyed this quirky, rambling Shelter Island home. Comfortable outdoor space served as a focal point for family and extended-friend dinner gatherings, while the top-notch kitchen was stocked to the hilt with just about anything a serious cook might need. The house was quite spacious for six adults - two parents and our adult children, each accompanied by a guest. In addition, our Golden Retriever, Henry, found the large front porch and chasing of rabbits very much to his liking.
The house is located just a few minutes drive from the North Ferry; the location is peaceful and quiet. David was quite accommodating with the entire rental process and the home and its amenities were just as stated on the VRBO site.
This is our third visit to Shelter Island and it's a truly special place. We've enjoyed hiking in the gorgeous Mashomack Preserve, as well as the varied selection of wineries on the North Fork - we especially recommend Shinn Estate Vineyards and Anthony Nappa's The Winemaker Studio (think Anomaly Pinot Noir white wine!). The drive through the Hamptons out to Montauk is a half-day well spent. Bob's Fish Market on Shelter Island was a good source of fresh local seafood for home cooking and Noah's in Greenport served up some interesting and savory tapas. Vine Street Cafe, while quite expensive, was an extraordinary and memorable dinner. Hay Beach is a great little spot for relaxing and bocci ball. The star gazing from Rose Cottage on clear nights was awesome! Driving through the Forks, Sag Harbor and the Hamptons is a reminder that Long Island Forks region is stunningly beautiful."

"My girlfriend and I stayed the last weekend of May. The owner was extremely nice and helpful! The surf club is gorgeous and the condo is amazing! Tons of amenities, super clean, and great location! Just walk past the pool to get to the beach and outside the surf club to get to all the bars/restaurants. Will absolutely be returning!"

"The girls and I immensely enjoyed our time spent at this house. We traveled from Virginia and it was well worth the trip. We were so relaxed and comfortable! Meal preparation was easy in the upgraded kitchen. We also cooked dinner one evening on the grills and had peaceful dinner on the deck. We finished the evening with a swim in the sizable pool. The pool was great and there is a beach is within walking distance. We had such a great time that we were nostalgic at the end of the weekend and can’t wait to go back this summer. Not to mention the owner was so welcoming and accommodating."

"We were a small group of adults and young children coming from the city during the beautiful late summer, early autumn. We felt so lucky to be able to stay at this lovely home for a long weekend in September after the start of the school year. The house and the grounds are very private, charming, warm and beautifully furnished. The heated pool was amazing. The owners were responsive and very hospitable and made our stay that much more enjoyable. The house is well-located; the fish market, wine store, coffee shop, italian deli & the LIRR all within a block or two of the house.
I would highly recommend this house for a lovely & peaceful East Hampton retreat. We would love to stay here again."
