"Our family enjoyed this quirky, rambling Shelter Island home. Comfortable outdoor space served as a focal point for family and extended-friend dinner gatherings, while the top-notch kitchen was stocked to the hilt with just about anything a serious cook might need. The house was quite spacious for six adults - two parents and our adult children, each accompanied by a guest. In addition, our Golden Retriever, Henry, found the large front porch and chasing of rabbits very much to his liking.
The house is located just a few minutes drive from the North Ferry; the location is peaceful and quiet. David was quite accommodating with the entire rental process and the home and its amenities were just as stated on the VRBO site.
This is our third visit to Shelter Island and it's a truly special place. We've enjoyed hiking in the gorgeous Mashomack Preserve, as well as the varied selection of wineries on the North Fork - we especially recommend Shinn Estate Vineyards and Anthony Nappa's The Winemaker Studio (think Anomaly Pinot Noir white wine!). The drive through the Hamptons out to Montauk is a half-day well spent. Bob's Fish Market on Shelter Island was a good source of fresh local seafood for home cooking and Noah's in Greenport served up some interesting and savory tapas. Vine Street Cafe, while quite expensive, was an extraordinary and memorable dinner. Hay Beach is a great little spot for relaxing and bocci ball. The star gazing from Rose Cottage on clear nights was awesome! Driving through the Forks, Sag Harbor and the Hamptons is a reminder that Long Island Forks region is stunningly beautiful."

"Celebrated my 30th birthday here with a group of friends. The pictures did not do the property justice and the interior was very comfortable and peaceful as well. The location was perfect-- a short 5 minute ride to the town of Sag Harbor, and a ten minute ride to the East Hampton main beach. Helen (the owner) was wonderful to deal with, and returned the security deposit in a timely fashion. Will definitely look to stay here again next time we stay in the Hamptons."

"We stayed at this lovely home when renovating our nearby property ,,, it is a charming house--comfortable living room and light-filled morning room with wet bar that was good for entertaining, chef's kitchen that had everything I needed for cooking and baking...a nice bricked patio where we grilled, was right outside the kitchen door. The master bedroom is large and the king bed was very comfortable.. good water pressure in the shower...The pool area was divine.. spent many hours lounging and floating in the glorious pool, eating poolside lunch followed by outside shower...it was so private---my grand-daughter loved the swing set, pool toys and children's book library..Close to everything but tucked away--awesome!"
