"Our seven night stay at Pat Nelson's cottage was absolutely fantastic. A perfect combination of beach and country are all on this seven acre paradise. Pat is the pefect host , and offers his kayaks, charcoal grills , and many other things to make your stay enjoyable.
I'd give TEN stars if possible."

"Our family enjoyed this quirky, rambling Shelter Island home. Comfortable outdoor space served as a focal point for family and extended-friend dinner gatherings, while the top-notch kitchen was stocked to the hilt with just about anything a serious cook might need. The house was quite spacious for six adults - two parents and our adult children, each accompanied by a guest. In addition, our Golden Retriever, Henry, found the large front porch and chasing of rabbits very much to his liking.
The house is located just a few minutes drive from the North Ferry; the location is peaceful and quiet. David was quite accommodating with the entire rental process and the home and its amenities were just as stated on the VRBO site.
This is our third visit to Shelter Island and it's a truly special place. We've enjoyed hiking in the gorgeous Mashomack Preserve, as well as the varied selection of wineries on the North Fork - we especially recommend Shinn Estate Vineyards and Anthony Nappa's The Winemaker Studio (think Anomaly Pinot Noir white wine!). The drive through the Hamptons out to Montauk is a half-day well spent. Bob's Fish Market on Shelter Island was a good source of fresh local seafood for home cooking and Noah's in Greenport served up some interesting and savory tapas. Vine Street Cafe, while quite expensive, was an extraordinary and memorable dinner. Hay Beach is a great little spot for relaxing and bocci ball. The star gazing from Rose Cottage on clear nights was awesome! Driving through the Forks, Sag Harbor and the Hamptons is a reminder that Long Island Forks region is stunningly beautiful."

"This house was wonderful! The house is clean, and had everything my family needed for the weekend. Close distance to town, supermarket, restaurants, etc.! The backyard is big, perfect for BBQs and hanging out. The owner was extremely helpful, and had all the information ready for me. Even left me fresh tomatoes from her garden :)
Definitely recommend this place, and will stay again next time I am in Greenport!"

"Just back from two glorious weeks. The house sits on a beautiful piece of property with a spectacular view. Perfect spot to drop your paddleboard or kayak and just spend the day on the Sound. There was no reason to leave. Everything we needed was there for us to have a beautiful vacation. The owners were super to work with. Thanks - until next year!"
