"Our family enjoyed this quirky, rambling Shelter Island home. Comfortable outdoor space served as a focal point for family and extended-friend dinner gatherings, while the top-notch kitchen was stocked to the hilt with just about anything a serious cook might need. The house was quite spacious for six adults - two parents and our adult children, each accompanied by a guest. In addition, our Golden Retriever, Henry, found the large front porch and chasing of rabbits very much to his liking.
The house is located just a few minutes drive from the North Ferry; the location is peaceful and quiet. David was quite accommodating with the entire rental process and the home and its amenities were just as stated on the VRBO site.
This is our third visit to Shelter Island and it's a truly special place. We've enjoyed hiking in the gorgeous Mashomack Preserve, as well as the varied selection of wineries on the North Fork - we especially recommend Shinn Estate Vineyards and Anthony Nappa's The Winemaker Studio (think Anomaly Pinot Noir white wine!). The drive through the Hamptons out to Montauk is a half-day well spent. Bob's Fish Market on Shelter Island was a good source of fresh local seafood for home cooking and Noah's in Greenport served up some interesting and savory tapas. Vine Street Cafe, while quite expensive, was an extraordinary and memorable dinner. Hay Beach is a great little spot for relaxing and bocci ball. The star gazing from Rose Cottage on clear nights was awesome! Driving through the Forks, Sag Harbor and the Hamptons is a reminder that Long Island Forks region is stunningly beautiful."

"We loved this house. The location of the house is perfect! Right on the canal with a view of the bay as well!! The photographs do not do this house justice. The spot is perfect. Beautiful large deck out back overlooking the canal. Nice peaceful neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Close to great fishing spots. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house for any family who is looking for a quiet, beautiful spot on the water."

"My family of 4 adults and 2 children spent a wonderful week in this beautiful home. The house is exactly as it appears in the photos - attractive, comfortable, and exactly what one would want to complete the Hamptons experience. It is immaculate and provides you with all amenities - from going to the beach, to cooking, or just relaxing around the beautiful pool. The house is well appointed with all top quality linens, pool and bath towels, and beach chairs. The property is spacious and the location is perfect, taking just about five to ten minutes to get to the town and the beach. The owner was extremely responsive, helpful, and hospitable. He went out of his way to help make the week even more perfect than it was and we appreciated all his efforts.
We all cannot wait to spend another vacation in this lovely home!"
