"We've had four wonderful stays in this beautiful house and we're looking forward to our fifth. Its beachfront setting, with a spectacular view of the ocean, feels like a privilege each time we're here. The house is clean and comfortable and made special with large beach paintings and "gifts from the sea" from Fire Island and Hawaii.
The house is ideal for families, with the beach right outside the door. There's space in the large, open-concept living room/dining room for everyone to hang out together and there are also upper and lower decks for lounging, grilling, eating, and watching the light change over the ocean.
The owners are a pleasure to deal with and seem truly pleased to share the house that we have all come to love. Fire Island is a unique and special spot, with no cars, beautiful beaches, and a laid-back ease that makes it impossible not to relax. We are so glad that we have this timeless place to build happy memories for ourselves and our children."

"We had the privilege of staying in this beautiful home for two weeks on a much needed family vacation. Where do I start? The home is beautifully appointed with lots of space for all. The beds are sooo comfortable with quality linens. The kitchen is beautiful with every amenity you could ever want. We cooked together and had many great meals! And the outside space....the pool is always the perfect temperature even in September! We swam morning, noon and night. It's a gorgeous space from your cup of coffee in the morning to your glass of wine in the evening. We could not have been happier! Can't wait to come back!!!!!"

"We had a lovely time in this very convenient home. Lois met us on arrival on Monday afternoon and returned the following Monday to wish us well on our return to California. Because the house is on several levels, it was a great choice for those who wished to rise early (we saw the swans out on the creek) and for those who wished to "sleep-in". The pool was wonderful and enjoyed by all. The creek was fun for tubing and paddle-boating. Part of our family stayed in this house and part of the extended family had another vrbo house a couple of miles away. One evening we had dinner for 24 out on deck and up by the pool, and there were dishes and silverware for all. Weather was lovely all week. The rehearsal dinner was at the Yacht club, the wedding was in garden at Sylvester Manor with dinner in a large "circus" tent in the meadow near Gardiner Creek, and the brunch on Sunday after the wedding was served from "Rolling in Dough" food truck (lots of fun with great pizza). My granddaughter was a beautiful bride and we all had a wonderful time. I would recommend this house for a big family gathering or for a small retreat time. We did not have time to read any of Leon Uris' books, but I had read several of them previously. The owners have very eclectic taste and some great posters. So glad I found this property."
