Beautifully maintained home - A pleasurable escape from the City
"I recently stayed with my girlfriends for a weekend reunion and wine tasting in the North Fork. We were so incredibly pleased when we arrived. The house is beautifully maintained and decorated. It has a fabulous lawn area, great deck and outdoor seating, and truly stunning views of the LI Sound. There was also private beach access to a pebbly, but swim-able beach. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed for the weekend including plenty of kitchen ware and cooking/serving pieces, glassware, two grills, beach chairs, beach towels, linens, lawn games, outdoor shower, etc. They had a lovely screened-in porch where we ate breakfast and dinner. The bedding in each room was of a high quality and the towels were plentiful. They also had a washer dryer, which we did not use, but was nice to know was available.
The owner was lovely to deal with and very responsive. Their property manager lives nearby and was also great. It was nice to know she was local and accessible if there were any problems (of which there were none!).
The town of East Marion is a quiet farm town/fishing village. Greenport, which is >10 minutes away is more built up and has everything you need. Overall there is so much to do in the area and we enjoyed visiting the local vineyards, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company, and restaurants like Little Creek Oyster Farm. Fork and Anchor, located >1 mi from the house is a great deli/prepared foods spot and has some grocery items as well. The Orient Point Ferry is also >10 minutes away and provides easy access for those coming from New England. I would highly recommend this property. We can't wait to return!"

"I rented this house along with 5 of my best friends for a quiet getaway from NYC. The property was perfectly set up, and Don got the hot tub running before we arrived on Friday night.Location is great, with a supermarket needed for groceries located just 2.2 miles away. Since the house is located in a wooden area, it made it feel like something to be found upstate NY or PA, without having to clime steep mountain roads. Overall a very pleasant experience even though we did not get to use the pool since It was the middle of January. I can only imagine how nice it would feel in summer time. Thank You Don and Louise for letting us enjoy your beautiful house."

"We rented the house for a week and had a wonderful time. The house was immaculate with a beautiful, private backyard and a lovely bay beach around the corner with great views of Shelter Island. The neighborhood is central to all the North Fork communities and very near many restaurants and wineries."

"Third time we've used the gatehouse - easily accommodates 4 - 6 people for 7 days. 2 bedrooms upstairs with a futon downstairs. We had 2 parents and 3 young adults (kids). We all used the outdoor shower - why would anyone not want to?!?! Kitchen was adequate, the house was super clean, beds comfortable. You can walk across the lawn to the beach, walk or bike into Greenport. Great location - we brought a kayak, launched it from the beach, used it to paddle around the Cove and across the channel to Shelter Island. Pat is always so accommodating. Will definitely stay here again."
