  • Charming . . . indeed ! ! !

"After reading so many reviews through the years, I think it might be important to know that this review is being submitted by a couple in their mid-40's who are active, love to travel, and enjoy eating well, and who have been to NYC several times. That being said, this apartment/house was absolutely perfect for us. It was beautifully furnished and decorated, very clean, and the owners used the space so wisely. Also, I could write a paragraph devoted to the shower, but I will leave it at . . . there is plenty of hot water, and it is a powerful shower that seemed at times more like a sauna or steam treatment. Awesome! The description and pictures are very accurate. The owner was also kind enough to be flexible in accommodating our check-in and check-out times because of our flight times. Yes, it is beside a small, busy restaurant, and you can hear some kitchen activity at times, but we did not find it disturbing at all. We loved the neighborhood, and also found it to be an easy walk to either of the 2 subway stops nearby. Bottom line: If possible, we would stay here EVERY time we visited NYC. The restaurants that we most enjoyed were: Colicchio & Sons, Balthazar, Gramercy Tavern, Minetta Tavern, Suteishi, and Boqueria SoHo. Other diners/food places that we really liked were Sarge's Deli, French Roast, Faicco's, and Murray's. In past trips, we have experienced and enjoyed the tourist "mainstays." This trip, we enjoyed strolling The High Line, The Cloisters, the Financial District, Battery Park, The SeaPort, and Washington Square Park. For other fun, evening entertainment, we saw the Broadway musical, Chicago, we listened to live music at Terra Blues, and we visited Raines Law Room. A review is simply one person's opinion, so do your "research" and find places and attractions that interest you . . . and your fellow travelers. I hope you will be as lucky as we were to find a great place to stay."

  • Great stay again

"We had a week-long business trip and stayed here already last year. The location is very convenient and the apartment itself peaceful, clean and well-equipped. The couch can be used as bed. There is all you need for cooking purposes (gas stove, microwave, king-size refrigerator), except dishwasher which we thought would be useful. Highly recommendable."

  • Thanksgiving 2013

"We stayed at this rental property when traveling to NY to visit family for Thanksgiving. We found Lydia's home to be very homey, comfortable and inviting. The hardwood floors are beautiful and the property well maintained. The track lighting in the living room was very pretty and a nice touch. This is the ideal place to stay if you want to spend time in the city as it is very close to the ferry terminal. Riding the ferry to the city is an awesome experience as you have great views of the city skyline and the Statue of Liberty. Lydia was very accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed. It was wonderful returning to the house after a long day in the cold or rainy city. The house was very warm and a nice place to relax. There are great deli's to try in Staten Island while you stay at the rental. We highly recommend Ariemmas Italian Deli as well as dining at Mike's Diner in Staten Island if you stay at this rental. It was also only a short drive from Staten Island to Hoboken NJ to visit the Cake Boss Bakery. Overall we had a great time and a great experience staying here and would recommend to others."

  • Perfect Location!

"Though the studio I originally saw on the site and inquired about wasn't available for our dates, Tiffany immediately suggested another one of her studio units. I tend to be a worrier, so I was pretty nervous about renting something sight unseen (especially without the usual confirmation you'd get from a hotel), but my boyfriend and I had such a great experience with Tiffany that I wouldn't hesitate to rent from her again! She was very open and communicated with me as much as possible throughout the process, which I really appreciated. The studio we rented was in the perfect location -- right in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, just a few blocks from Times Square (but you don't even realize it because you can't hear it at all). We felt very safe in the area and especially liked that, although it was a first-floor unit, it was slightly elevated off street level, so road noise wasn't really an issue. The nearest subway is just a few blocks away, which was super convenient -- we only took a cab twice during our stay. There were so many little restaurants near the studio I wanted to check out, but we ran out of time -- maybe next time we're there we can do some exploring. I'd definitely recommend renting from Tiffany. [As a side note for the coffee lovers: After Yelp-ing different places in the area, I'd recommend stopping by Kahve cafe for their almond chai -- it was delicious. :)]"
