"We very much enjoyed our post-Christmas week in NY at this location. The location is really great, though during the busy holiday season, moving about by cab (particularly in the direction of downtown) can be quite challenging, given all the visitors in and around the Grand Central and Times Square areas. The apartment itself was quite nice; it was a very comfortable setting for us and our two young adult children. The problem that marred our visit a bit was the fact that no one was available, as had been promised, to enable us to understand the set-up inside the apartment. The concierge and building staff (who were VERY nice throughout our visit!) let us into the apartment, but no one knew where to locate the key that we were to use during our stay. The owner's "point person" was not around. Without him, we couldn't find the key, we didn't have a wi-fi access code, we couldn't find wash clothes (which we ending up buying), we didn't have any information about what was in the apt that was available for our use, nor were we able to secure the housekeeping arrangements we had inquired about. After spending our first day rummaging about through all the drawers, cabinets, nooks and crannies in the apt, that night we found a key tucked away in a very unlikely place. It wasn't until almost halfway thru our visit when the owner's point person returned from being out ill, that we were able to get all the information we needed. He was surprised to see us and said he had not been aware we were coming. Neither, he said was the housekeeping service, so that was something we were never able to arrange. The fact that no one was aware that we'd be in the apt really surprised us, since we had had quite a few communications with the owner. While we certainly did what we had to to enjoy ourselves and this lovely apt (thanks to the owner for the wine; it was a very nice touch!), the apparent lack of communication or miscommunication between the owner and his people that preceded our visit clearly detracted a bit from the overall experience. At the price we paid for this week, that was disappointing. Had the point person been available from the start to help us settle in, and had we been able to arrange housekeeping, it would have been perfect!"
