  • Great place to stay on Upper West side!

"We went to NYC with another couple and this space fit our needs extremely well. We've usually stayed in Midtown, with its action that lasts all night,(including the police and fire sirens). This location was quiet, clean, easily accessed and the space was perfect for two couples to function in with a great balance of privacy and space to hang together. The price was certainly right and the response time from Great Places NYC was always excellent, whether in responding to e-mails, our initial meeting to get keys or receiving our damage deposit!"

  • Great hosts and townhome.

"Our experience at this cute little townhome was very nice. There were 4 of us and we all stayed very comfortably. This remodeled property was clean and very well-kept. We had absolutely no complaints about the townhome, with exception of a running toilet that we pointed out at the end of our stay, which certainly was no big deal. Tony immediately apologized and was going to have it taken care of ASAP. We didn't do much cooking (who spends time cooking when you are in New York?), but the kitchen had the things you need, which was all we cared about. Tony and Christine were awesome hosts and very responsive both before, during and after our arrival. There is a sweet small grocery store literally within a block, which was quite handy, and we did buy a few things we needed at the little "department" type store just across from the grocer. We flew into LaGuardia and took Uber (not a taxi). The travel time was about 20 minutes and cost us about $28 total. Not too shabby!! This was our first experience with the Uber app. If you have not used it, download the app before you get there. It's private people driving you around in lieu of high taxi fares. We used them 3 times while we were there to go to and from the airport, and one evening when we were too exhausted to do the subway to get home after a night a eating and drinking downtown. I do, however, have to point out that the neighborhood was a bit challenging for our tastes. We were safe and never felt threatened nor pan-handled, but we did have to walk to subways and buses through some very sketchy "activities" at times. The street the property is on was quiet for the most part, but Lexington Avenue had it's "moments." I would have to rate the neighborhood low. All in all, for the price, don't expect Manhattan...but this property was worth the stay. We experienced New York and all walks of life during our week there... and that was okay with us. Afterall, it's those interesting and colorful experiences that you remember most... right? We had plenty of fun and enjoyed our time. Thank you so much Tony & Christine."

  • Great location, responsive owner

"I had a business trip in NYC and brought my husband and our daughter along who was still on college break. We stayed 4 nights. I am a road warrior and I am particular to things like good internet, upgraded TVs, and well stocked homes. We had no issue. Comfy beds and linens, with high end towels. We also own two vacation homes so I am always judging other vacation homes. Mike was very responsive and also allowed a late check out. This was crucial as I had business calls and would have otherwise been forced to head to the airport earlier than planned. The location was a great base to do a lot of sight seeing. We used the Uber car service to get to where we needed. Plenty of Uber drivers in the area which was great. The subway was also nearby (I hear), but I didn't go on the subways. One of our favorite nearby restaurants was Dudley's. By the way, there was nothing wrong with the elevator. It worked just fine."

  • Lovely week in Tribeca

"The apartment was as advertised and exceeded our expectations. It was clean with more than adequate linens and kitchen utensils. The street is quiet but close to Tribeca/Soho activities. 24 steps up to the apartment. The owner/manager was excellent to work with."
