  • Best place to stay and feel as a New Yorker!!

"This is a great appt to stay, visit the city as a tourist but feel as a new yorker! Excelent location -10 min walk to the Metro-, quiet building, cossy and fully equipped, lovely decorated and an extremely comfortable bed with silk touch sheets to rest after walking for hours! l stayed with my teen age son during the coldest week in decades and the appt was very warm! I wil recomend it to all my friends and relatives! Sue was great and reliable, this was my first time renting by website; I also recomend Max to pick you at the airport! Don't keep on searching on the web, this is THE place to stay! Trust me!"

  • Great location, value. Could be more comfortable.

"We enjoyed our stay in Nanda's apartment. The location is great for sightseers as multiple subway lines are within a few blocks. There are many good restaurants and cafes nearby - as well as Eataly (An Italian market with restaurants and bars). The building itself is about the least glamorous on 5th Ave. but it was safe and warm in January. Not sure if the elevator works but we did not need it. Dealing with Nanda was fine and she is very friendly though we never really received much info about arrival/check-in etc. The apartment itself is clean and decent size - but really only for two people. It is a bit more cluttered than as shown in the photos. The bedroom is a good size and the bathroom is adequate. Our teenage daughter slept on the futon on the living room floor - not so suitable for adults. Two drawbacks that led to the 4 star rating: 1. The apartment is very noisy day and night as it faces 5th Ave. Earplugs will come in handy to sleep. 2. The sitting arrangement in the living room is a problem - the sofa is very uncomfortable and only fits two people."

  • Convenient, immaculate, friendly and well equipped.

"What more could you ask for? After scouring the net, looking for a hotel for my mom and I during the Christmas season, I almost gave up as the prices were cost prohibitive, especially if you preferred not to share a bathroom! Then I remembered VRBO, and selected this unit based on the reviewes and the photos (which were accurate and true). We had a great stay. Ray is kind and considerate, returns calls promptly and was incredibly easy to work with. The apartment is actually quite large considering typical hotel and apartment sizes in NYC. The bedroom is far enough away from the sleeper sofa that I did not hear mom snoring :-) though street noises in the front of the house woke me (a light sleeper) earlier than I would have liked. The sleeper sofa is has a new mattress, comfortable but a little squeaky. The bedroom in the back of the house was quiet and extremely comfortable. Everything we needed, and more, was available. So nice to make coffee and relax in the morning. Huge grocery a couple of blocks away for all provisions. It was cold and rainy/snowy during our stay so the apartment provided a nice reprieve for cocoa and curling up with a book. We are native New Yorkers who have moved out of state, and mom is 78 and not as able to get around like she used to so we didn't need to be "out and about" every moment. The stairs, both approaching the front door and up to the second floor, were a bit tough for mom. Especially after walking from the subway (only 3 blocks away) and up the hill approaching the apartment. Something to keep in mind for older folks. Overall, this apartment is extremely nice, an excellent value and I would stay there again (on visits without mom.)"

  • The best place to stay in NYC - we'll definitely come back!

"We stayed in the apartment for 11 nights and simply loved it! The apartment is perfect, the location suberb and the owner - Peter - SO nice!! When booking the apartment, the contact with and information from Peter was even better than hoped for. Quick replys on emails and not at problem that we arrived after midnight (as we've experienced elsewhere). He'd even put out some fruit if anyone needed a snack! It's very convenient that he lives next door if anything is needed (not that it was). The apartment is spacious - everything you'd need is there (towels, linen, tea towels) - and the city right outside the door (awesome location)! We would highly recommend this rental - and will definitely be coming back!"
