"My husband and I stayed here for a month this summer with our 8 month old daughter. We were in nyc visiting family and friends but wanted a place to stay of our own. This really is the best neighborhood in the city and I've lived in quite a few! The place itself is such a rare, hidden find! A carriage house behind the brownstones of the west village makes it a very quiet place to stay and sleep. The inside of the house is beautifully renovated and the owner has amazing taste! It was very clean, highly organized and cozy!! The house was fully stocked with supplies (cleaning, dish-washing, etc) and available information on the neighborhood. The owner is a pleasure to deal with, very straightforward and very responsive in all communication. I hope to stay here again and I highly recommend staying here if you get the chance!"Guest: Heleena F. Date of Stay: July 2013 Review Submitted: August 27, 2013View listing
"I really don't have much to add to the other reviews that have already been posted. I would agree with those 5 star reviews 100%. Having lived in NYC for 5 years I can definitely say that this was a top tier apartment in a top tier location. The pictures are 100% accurate, but really do not properly communicate just how much space this apartment offers. The bedrooms are a great side, but the studio space in the back of the apartment is really big and spacious. The living room, dining room, kitchen area is also very spacious and feels even more so by the high ceilings throughout the apartment. Christine was very helpful in giving a few recommendations of restaurants in the neighborhood and in getting us settled into the apartment. We ate at the Burger Joint down the street, and at Otto where I ordered the best ravioli I have ever had. All in all, I believe that this apartment offers an extremely good value in NYC if you need more than 1 bedroom. Even if you don't need more than 1 bedroom it would still be a great place to stay because of its location and the high quality of the apartment. I look forward to the next trip where we can rent the apartment again!"Guest: Matthew K. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 14, 2014View listing
"My friends and I spent two days and two nights at the UWS apartment. The location could not have been better. Walking distance from all of the places we were in town to visit. And in a wonderful neighborhood close to Central Park. That's the good. The not so good. The apartment is in the middle of a row of brownstones so there is not very much natural light. And while the kitchen has been beautifully updated the rest of the unit is lagging behind. The worse part of the stay was the lack of sleep due the noisy neighbors upstairs. While I understand that these are vacation rentals and it was the weekend I was willing to put up with a fair amount of disturbance up until midnight (and I relayed this to the landlord) however our lovely upstairs neighbors walked aka stomped around until 2 a.m, every night/morning even after I had express my concerns. Perhaps at the end of the day it was not their fault? The apartments are not well insulated so you can hear everything. The next day when we were checking out so were they. And it was a herd of them. Tons of kids and adults. Who was up until 2 am stopping around? I couldn't tell you. The kids looked to young to be up that late, and the adults looked too old... Anyway an other wise splendid trip was soured by the lack of a peaceful night(s) rest. I have stayed in VRBO before in NYC and have not run into this issue. Perhaps that's due to the fact that other renters were owners. These places seem to be solely for the use as rental units. Therefore why be concerned about noise if you don't live there? If you're looking for a great location and a good price and don't need to sleep this is the place for you. Other wise I'd say keep looking."Guest: travelling shoes Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 21, 2014View listing
