  • The perfect place for families.

"We highly recommend this vacation rental for families ,couples or friends who want to enjoy a vacation in NYC and return to a safe and quiet neighborhood for a good night rest. The apartment is comfortable an beautifully decorated. Mark was very helpful providing directions and tips about the city. We felt like home. We look forward to return someday to this wonderful place."

  • Great for a long weekend in NYC

"We had 6 couples spend 5 days/4 nights in this great house. So many positives, great location, lots of space, private bathrooms for each couple, the kitchen/dining room were great for meals in or when we chose to do take out. Joyce suggested our first lunch at Sylvia's and pointed out the grocery story and other shops that we could use during our stay. Perfect! Thank you Joyce"

  • Wonderful Place for a Family to Stay While Visiting New York

"Our family of 5 were thrilled with this warm 2 bedroom apartment. Bill was extremely gracious and accommodating, even when we arrived to the apartment about 3:00 AM. In fact he made sure we had warm food waiting for us when we arrived. The refrigerator and cupboards were stocked with food and the apartment was very clean. The neighborhood was very quite and we enjoyed walking around, exploring the shops all day and evening. Highly recommend visiting Papaya Seed for some delicious frozen yogurt! We can't wait to come back and stay here again."

  • INSIDE: clean, spacious, well equipped, cozy, OUTSIDE: construction site

"This Apt is situated in 132nd in Harlem, short walking distance to the Metro (express 2/3 line takes 15 minutes downtown). It's a clean 2 room basement Apt. The sleeping room (streetside) has a large TV (very few channels actually work), sofa, desk, lot's of cabinet space and a very comfortable bed. It's a nice cozy room. The entrance / dining / kitchen room is bigger, has another sofa, a little dining table and a typical US open kitchen area with a fridge, coffee maker, toaster, stove and sink unit. All is well furnished and equipped. There's also a washing machine with dryer. Lot's of space and fully working. There's not a second TV set as seen in the picture. All lighting is a bit dark and comfortless, makes it difficult to read. There's no nightstand with light at the bed, so you cannot read in bed. No carpet and the floor is a bit cold, so maybe bring your own or buy slippers. The bathroom is clean. Within a short walking distance you'll find lot's of supermarkets, a bunch of restaurants and a couple of bars for a drink. The nicest ones are on Lenox Ave just around the corner. Corner Social (321 Lenox) is very nice and always busy. Tio Luca (421 Lenox) is calmer and a super last stop before home, only 1 block away. The area is safe and we never felt unsecure, althought some funny people around, especially late at night. But this is Harlem. Some Houses in the street are left alone and all seems a bit dark and deserted. It's extremely calm and quiet at night, a guarantee for a good nights sleep. The only thing what really irritated us, was that one day after our arrival the cellar underneath the Apt as well as the first floor obove us and the backyard was turned into a heavy construction site, starting very noisy work from 8am. This made it impossible to sleep in. From day to day we had workers (very polite) asking to go through our Apt in order to work in the backyard construction site. So we had to leave each day early in the morning, which was ok, because we wanted to explore the city anyway. During the day when the work was going on, the front door was wide open even when we returned in the evening, so that was a bit of a lack of security. But nothing ever happend. The last 3 days there was a very heavy smell of paint in the Apt made it nearly impossible to sleep at night and during the entire stay the entrance area was used as a garbage dump. As we only paid 1700 for 2 weeks and did not use the Apt during the day, we overall liked it. Thank you!"
