"I had a business trip in NYC and brought my husband and our daughter along who was still on college break. We stayed 4 nights. I am a road warrior and I am particular to things like good internet, upgraded TVs, and well stocked homes. We had no issue. Comfy beds and linens, with high end towels.
We also own two vacation homes so I am always judging other vacation homes. Mike was very responsive and also allowed a late check out. This was crucial as I had business calls and would have otherwise been forced to head to the airport earlier than planned. The location was a great base to do a lot of sight seeing. We used the Uber car service to get to where we needed. Plenty of Uber drivers in the area which was great. The subway was also nearby (I hear), but I didn't go on the subways.
One of our favorite nearby restaurants was Dudley's.
By the way, there was nothing wrong with the elevator. It worked just fine."

"This apartment is a great option for those who want to spend time in Lower Manhattan or Brooklyn. It is in the heart of the Lower East Side near the Wlliamsburg Bridge, with easy access to East Village, Chinatown, Little italy, Soho, etc etc. Twice we walked across the city to the West Village in under 30 minutes, casual strolling, passing through fascinating areas on the way. Very close to 2 subway lines also.
The apartment, as advertised, is large and clean and well furnished. Two TVs, excellent mattress, a hard-wired computer and 2 different WiFi networks. Clean is a big issue, as places in NYC are not always up to the standards of home, but this place is really clean! Awesome view to the west from the 18th floor - maybe all the way to Jersey?
As noted by others, the immediate surroundings are a bit grim - parking lots and other high-rise buildings, but at no time did we feel even remotely unsafe. It's a very user friendly area.
Ana, the landlady, is extremely helpful and co-operative. There was a little complexity surrounding our arrival time and she worked with us so we got the keys well in advance. One could not ask for a more accommodating owner; she made it all very easy. Even left us with a welcome basket of wine, beer and sundry junk foods.
The only qualification is that the cleaning fee ($100) is a bit high when compared to comparable listings in VRBO.
Overall, strongly recommend to anyone who wants to stay in the area."

"My husband and I had a fabulous stay in Maria's apartment. It is comfortable, cosy and in a safe, interesting neighbourhood. We just loved to hang out in the apartment to make our daily plans and then we would come home to a perfect retreat from the streets of New York.
Highly recommended for a couple or a couple with kids."

"My husband and I travel to NYC often and were tired of staying in hotels. I'm so glad we decided to stay here. Sofia's apartment is beautiful and spotless. Plenty of room for the two of us. The bed was comfy, as was the chaise for reading. No outside noise -- not even from the neighbors. Everything was as advertised, and we hope to stay there again. Great neighborhood (try the homemade noodle place on East Broadway!) and a short walk to the subway. Sofia is great (as is her sister). Highly recommend."
