  • Perfect place to stay!

"This was our first time finding a place on VRBO. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised and very happy with our choice. The apartment is exactly as it shows and is in a great location; close to Times Square, Central Park and the subway. It has a great view of the Hudson and the doormen are very nice and helpful. The apartment is clean and the owner was very easy to work with and responses were timely. Our next trip to NYC will include this apartment!"

  • We will be back!

"We're a family of three from Germany and this was our third time in NYC. We stayed in three different apartments and this was the best one by far! It was very clean and well maintained, quiet and convenient in every aspect. A lot of attractions are within walking distance, the subway is nearby. Pierce and Daniel were helpful and very friendly. Unfortunately there is a but: The sofabed is horrible to sleep on. You literally sleep on the bedsprings and that hurts. Luckily our daughter is small and didn't mind so much, but a grown-up person... We bought a broom to be able to clean the place a bit during our three weeks stay, I hope the broom will stay in the apt for the following guests. So, we would have happily given 5 stars if not for the sofabed, therefore: 4 stars because it's still a great place."

  • Huge, convenient, private, easy...

"This is a very large apartment, and it is very well maintained. You have all the space you want and no crumbling decay to deal with. The bedrooms are both enormous, and the MB ensuite is equally giant. We found this apartment to be extremely well located. A fifteen minute walk from Madison Park, and a 2 minute walk from the subway (6 line). We didn't shop for food and do any cooking, but there was a D'Agostino and a couple other places nearby that would work--although, you'd be better off at the Union Sq. Whole Foods. Check-in was fast and easy. Check-out was even faster and easier--we just left! Noise...The master bedroom was quiet for NYC and what we expected. The front bedroom was noisy from traffic on Lex. Our kids didn't seem to notice though. It wasn't any different than you'd find in any other similarly positioned apt. in NY... We've stayed in dozens of rental properties and this one is definitely one of the few worth returning to... As an added bonus: We left a retainer behind and it was quickly found by the cleaning staff and mailed to us immediately."

  • Great location.

"The property was prettly well exactly as shown in the photos, for which I was relieved as I had tried a different rental-by-owner company and had inadvertantly responded to a fraudulent ad. This VRBO rental is as listed, and is not listed as 5-Star. The important issues (to me) were met: clean bathroom and towels; clean dishes; clean fridge; and clean bedding - location, location... It has a toaster; coffee pot, and kettle for your convenience. We stayed two weeks. The area is a great location if you want to be within walking distance to a LOT of sites. (Walking-distance is relative - this is a fourth floor walk up - and you Can get to a lot of places if you are healthy and without mobility issues.) It is close to several subway lines. The area (like many places in NYC, I'm sure) is Loud. One of its monikers is "The City That Never Sleeps" - and for a reason. Sirens blare; people party; horns honk; trucks thunk on the metal plates temporarly placed on the streets - but this is New York. The owner answered my inquiries/e-mails/concerns in a very prompt manner. The price was very reasonable, considering the area hotels are a lot more expensive. The pick up and drop off of keys was quite easy ... My refundable deposit was returned very promptly upon my return home. Minor downsides to the apartment are that the computer is a little slow, and the door knob stuck a couple times. (A simple quick turn or two of the knob would pull the plunger out). Having a full-sized broom or mop would have been nice to access (not that I want to clean on vacation), but when staying that long - dust and strands of hair tend to build up on the floor. I echo earlier posters in that after walking all day, a walk-up is tiring - but with a kitchenette in the apartment, we bought groceries at the Food Emporium about 3 blocks away, and ate in sometimes - eliminating extra walks up and down stairs which also ended up saving us money. Or, we could take home leftovers as restaurant meals are often in large portions. The Celtic bar right next door has good food, fast kitchen service, reasonable prices, and is about as handy as you can get. I personally would recommend going off the beaten track - away from the Tourist destination most would head to - and take a walk around the residences in the neighbourhood - you may find a hidden gem, or get to say 'Hi' to a local. You might find a nice non-franchised chain restaurant to eat a meal or two at. Happy Travels!!!"
