Great hosts and townhome.
"Our experience at this cute little townhome was very nice. There were 4 of us and we all stayed very comfortably. This remodeled property was clean and very well-kept. We had absolutely no complaints about the townhome, with exception of a running toilet that we pointed out at the end of our stay, which certainly was no big deal. Tony immediately apologized and was going to have it taken care of ASAP. We didn't do much cooking (who spends time cooking when you are in New York?), but the kitchen had the things you need, which was all we cared about. Tony and Christine were awesome hosts and very responsive both before, during and after our arrival.
There is a sweet small grocery store literally within a block, which was quite handy, and we did buy a few things we needed at the little "department" type store just across from the grocer.
We flew into LaGuardia and took Uber (not a taxi). The travel time was about 20 minutes and cost us about $28 total. Not too shabby!! This was our first experience with the Uber app. If you have not used it, download the app before you get there. It's private people driving you around in lieu of high taxi fares. We used them 3 times while we were there to go to and from the airport, and one evening when we were too exhausted to do the subway to get home after a night a eating and drinking downtown.
I do, however, have to point out that the neighborhood was a bit challenging for our tastes. We were safe and never felt threatened nor pan-handled, but we did have to walk to subways and buses through some very sketchy "activities" at times. The street the property is on was quiet for the most part, but Lexington Avenue had it's "moments." I would have to rate the neighborhood low.
All in all, for the price, don't expect Manhattan...but this property was worth the stay. We experienced New York and all walks of life during our week there... and that was okay with us. Afterall, it's those interesting and colorful experiences that you remember most... right? We had plenty of fun and enjoyed our time. Thank you so much Tony & Christine."

"My family of 5 just returned from our very first trip to NYC. From the beginning the management of this property was prompt and courteous with their communication. The beautiful apartment was nicely maintained, clean and exactly as described. No surprises. So much space! We felt like we got a real New York experience staying in this walk-up apartment, right in the middle of a real NY neighborhood. Subway was just a few blocks away- this was our only mode of transportation. CVS and other small markets and delis nearby for stocking up on drinks and snacks. Lovely restaurants nearby-we adored Penelope's for breakfast.
Our flight was canceled at the last minute and we had to scramble to find a way into NYC. We finally got there but it was late! Management stayed in contact with us throughout the ordeal and could not have been nicer. They had someone meet us with a key when we finally arrived-after 11 pm!
We are already planning our next trip to NYC and will definitely stay here again!"

"Just returned from my trip with 5 ladies and we can't say enough about how wonderful this apartment was. The beds were so comfortable after a long day walking around town. It was so quiet we almost forgot where we were. The neighbors were friendly and the guys that work at the corner store were awesome and very helpful. Subway was easy to get to we did use UBER to get home at night (fairly inexpensive). I look forward to staying here again."

"The studio -- and the building -- are quiet, clean, and super-convenient to everything. Subway stop half a block away, and a terrific neighborhood for browsing, shopping, eating, and walking. Miriam is wonderful -- accessible, helpful, and local to handle any questions or issues. Small things really made this place extra enjoyable: the hot water actually gets hot and warms up quickly. The elevator is quick and available. There's a vestibule that you enter off the street, so you're inside -- not standing on the sidewalk or in the weather -- as you're getting out your key and opening the lock to the front door. The little fridge keeps things cold. There are plenty of hangers in the closet. It's easy to find where to put trash/garbage. (None of these are things you can take for granted in a VRBO apartment!) Note that although there are plenty of places to get coffee within half a block or less, if you're someone who needs to make coffee before you leave the apt in the morning, be sure you know how to work a French press --- it's not hard, just different from a drip machine. I loved my stay here -- I'd especially recommend it to someone traveling alone."
