  • Ideal apartment

"Everything was just right - location, layout, comfort, quiet, assistance. No pretending there was no short rental going on - we collected the keys from the concierge, and the block's handyman promptly replaced a light globe on request. My wife was ill and I had to work - she could't have had a better place to recover. Highly recommended"

  • Convenient, immaculate, friendly and well equipped.

"What more could you ask for? After scouring the net, looking for a hotel for my mom and I during the Christmas season, I almost gave up as the prices were cost prohibitive, especially if you preferred not to share a bathroom! Then I remembered VRBO, and selected this unit based on the reviewes and the photos (which were accurate and true). We had a great stay. Ray is kind and considerate, returns calls promptly and was incredibly easy to work with. The apartment is actually quite large considering typical hotel and apartment sizes in NYC. The bedroom is far enough away from the sleeper sofa that I did not hear mom snoring :-) though street noises in the front of the house woke me (a light sleeper) earlier than I would have liked. The sleeper sofa is has a new mattress, comfortable but a little squeaky. The bedroom in the back of the house was quiet and extremely comfortable. Everything we needed, and more, was available. So nice to make coffee and relax in the morning. Huge grocery a couple of blocks away for all provisions. It was cold and rainy/snowy during our stay so the apartment provided a nice reprieve for cocoa and curling up with a book. We are native New Yorkers who have moved out of state, and mom is 78 and not as able to get around like she used to so we didn't need to be "out and about" every moment. The stairs, both approaching the front door and up to the second floor, were a bit tough for mom. Especially after walking from the subway (only 3 blocks away) and up the hill approaching the apartment. Something to keep in mind for older folks. Overall, this apartment is extremely nice, an excellent value and I would stay there again (on visits without mom.)"

  • A home away from home

"Was exactly what we were looking for! Our first time in New York/New Jersey. We wanted something that was close to attractions and yet be in a quiet neighborhood so we could relax after a busy day and make our own meals. This was perfect and loved the house! We quickly made this our home away from home for our Thanksgiving stay. Loved the layout, very clean & cozy atmosphere with a lot of character. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner. The beds were comfortable and plenty of space for when we wanted a little quiet time and large spaces for all of us to gather together. We drove everywhere we went and quickly learned to allow plenty of time for traveling through the traffic! Would definitely stay here again!"
