"My husband and I have been to New York several times. However, this trip was special because we took our oldest daughter for her 13th Birthday. So we wanted to spend more in the city than on accommodations. Living in the south we also use VRBO for rentals on the Gulf, so we thought we would check it out. Leon and his wife were wonderful! We arrived to early to get in the room but they took our bags up for us so we could hit the city. We came home every night (morning) late between 1 - 2am, we felt very safe. It is about a 8-10 block walk from the subway, but we didn't mind that at all. There is a grocery store within a couple of blocks and JIMBO'S that was really good food. Also, we love culture so it was really nice to see what the other burroughs were like. Become familiar with the subway schedule (especially at night). The room had all the comforts of home including a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, even shampoo in the shower! We highly recommend this vrbo!"

"I got a little worried when reading some of the previous reviews but we had no problems. The caretaker was readily available for the few questions I had. The apartment was perfect. Large by NY standards. Updated bath and kitchen. Very clean. Quiet for being in the city. It is right on Mulberry St. which is the tourist street of Little Italy. Great restaurants within walking distance but avoid the tourist ones right outside the apt. View of the Empire State Building and Freedom Tower. This will be our place when we come to NY."

I have recommended this condo to my friends and family, there is no higher praise.
"The other reviewers are exactly right, the condo is lovely and the views are amazing. I decided to discuss some of the other benefits of the condominium.
First, it is very near the Port Authority Bus Terminal, that means you can take the Airporter or Express bus from any of the three major airports and get to the condominium for $16 one way, $9 for seniors. You will have a walk of less than 2 minutes, perfect, and they run every 15 minutes.
We almost always walk or take the subway and the Port Authority has the A,B, & C lines. That means you can easily get to the World Trade Center, several museums, and the theater district. Everywhere else you will probably want to go runs through Times Square station and that is just a 5 minute walk away. The Circle Line boat pier is just a 10 minute walk down 42nd street and I highly recommend you take one of their cruises around Manhattan. If you want to take a taxi there is a queue on 9th so you don't need to try to hail a cab.
There is a very nice deli-market right next door but if you are planning on eating in occasionally there is a Food Emporium, a full service grocery, in the next block. The doorman will direct you. The staff is wonderfully helpful and friendly. We were there for nine days and it was only a day or two before they recognized us and had the door open as we approached. Everyone in the building was very nice, it was fun to be living among 'real' New Yorkers.
We have stayed in VRBO listings all over the world and Susan's was the best by far. The unit books up far in advance so be sure to contact her as soon as you know you will be in NYC."

"My high expectations, which so often have not been met on my travels, have all been fulfilled. All the positives mentioned in the other reviews are absolutely correct. Just read them, I totally agree with what has been valued by other visitors.
My personal favourite aspect is the perfect location Midtown. It made it possible to “come home” after some exhausting sightseeing before going out again to see a play or some such. Walking to the theatre both Broadway and Off-Broadway– perfect! A second favorite is, me being a single female traveller, that I always felt completely safe, within the building and in the area, day and night.
Tim is very quick with answering all questions during both the booking process and the eventual stay. I would definitely rent from him again and can highly recommend the apartment. Thanks, Tim, for being such a lovely host."
