  • Hidden Tribeca gem!

"I hesitate to write this review as I would like to keep VRBO best NYC listing all to myself! We have rented numerous properties across the U.S. and I have to say this Tribeca duplex was our all time favorite. Absolutely gorgeous and incredibly spacious. Location was amazing as you could easily explore Soho or Tribeca. Homeowners were a delight to deal with and had any amenity you could imagine. I would highly recommend this property to anybody who is wanting a true downtown experience."

  • Enjoyed our stay!

"We stayed at the apartment next door (not listed here) which has two small, but high rooms. The 2 double beds are on platforms above the walk-in closet and the entrance hall with kitchenette. The apartment fitted perfectly to what we were looking for and also to our expectations: spacious enough for us 3 girls, centrally located, subway around the corner, coffee shops, bars and diners/restaurants nearby. Roberto and his wife are nice people, explaining and telling you everything about the apartment and the neighborhood. Next time we'll accept your invitation and will be coming over for dinner, Roberto! Thanks again."

  • A privilege to stay here

"We had the opportunity to stay in this apartment over Xmas / New Year in 2010/2011 and I don't think that we have ever been happier in a vacation rental. There are definately no down sides to this apartment. It was spacious, comfortable and incredible convenient. Having only been to new york once before (midtown) I was a little nervous about staying in tribeca, but during the whole process of corresponding with the owners I was very confident that our stay would be wonderful. The apartment itself is beautiful. Even in the middle of winter, the enormous windows flood the apartment with sunshine. The apartment is only around the corner from the subway and literally 200m from the crossroad of soho; little italy and chinatown. Being a fan of real coffee and having trouble finding good coffee in the states, I can assure true coffee fans that the best coffee shop in town is at the end of the street. After a week they were making our coffees as my husband walked in the door every morning. We dined in little italy and chinatown and my only regret was that we didn't venture out to the tribeca restaurants until towards the end of our stay. If you like to shop this is just a marvellous location. Many a day we lost ourselves in the beautiful shops of soho. After a few days in New York my son and I got terribly ill and fortunately found a doctor at Wallgrens at Times Square. While a long haul from the apartment, it was door to door on the subway and being from Australia at least we were able to get medical attention with not too much trouble. If you like to read, this apartment is a veritable smorgasbord. The extent of their collection is fabulous. To Catherine and Vlad ... thank you. It was really a privilege to stay in your home. I hope we treated it in the way what you would have hoped. Your generosity in allowing us to share in your New York life was exceptional. I only hope that we have the chance to marry our time in new york with your time in france in the future. To anyone that is looking at this review .... Have no hesitation that this is a wonderful apartment. Now I just want to stay there in summer. cheers julie"

  • White Christmas in NYC

"Six members of my family met in NYC and stayed in this apartment for two weeks over Christmas/New Year 2009/10. We arrived to snow storm chaos at JFK and took 6hrs to get from the airport to the apartment, eventually arriving at 3.30am. Roberto, the very good natured and charming landlord took us through the basics of the apartment then left us to sleep, returning the next afternoon for more detailed explanation. He had complied a list of local restaurants and service shops that was very helpful and, living next door, he added his own ideas for making the most of our first NY experience which we enjoyed. Right from my very first online enquiry Roberto was prompt and helpful. The apartment was exactly as listed, very spacious and funky. It is not '5 star' but it is clean, well maintained and generously equiped. It has a relaxed, homely feel but with an interesting artistic edge which made it the perfect place to unwind at the end of a days sightseeing. It was great to be able to walk to Wholefoods and other produce stores as well as many and varied restaurants. Nobu on Hudson our favourite. An easy walk to subway stations made exploring the rest of Manhatten very straightforward. We only took one taxi in the whole 2 weeks. At one stage the heating wasn't sufficient but that was quickly remedied by the property manager who also refunded our security deposit on time as promised. I would definitely recommend this property for an adult family or group. The loft bedrooms may restrict access for some but anyone who can climb a ladder would be fine. We gathered for drinks in the kitchen most nights and had a memorable Christmas dinner in the dining room of all the seafood carried home on the subway the night before. Very happy memories. Would love to do it all again!"
