  • Great place to stay

"We stayed in the apartment over Christmas. It was perfect. The kitchen is well-equipped enough for us to cook a holiday meal. The fireplace was wonderful. Justin and his wife are very accommodating. The location is perfect with lots of restaurants nearby and the Whole Foods just a few blocks away. We will definitely stay here again"

  • Great family trip location!!!

"I'm so glad I found and booked this apartment! It's hard to know where to stay in a city you aren't familiar with, right?! If you are looking for a clean, safe, well located apartment in NYC, look NO further than this one. The apartment was exactly as described in the listing and photos. It was so nice to be minutes from all the hustle and bustle (by subway) of the city without having to be in the middle of it. This apartment is located in the Upper West side with everything you could possibly want within walking distance. We walked to Central Park every morning to enjoy our coffee! The subway is located within walking distance as well. So many shops and restaurants to choose from too! If you want the experience of living in New York even if it's only temporary this is the place! My family of 4, 3 adults and 1 teenager had a blast. We were there to do the typical tourist things. I would have given 5 stars, but the double bed in one of the rooms is really uncomfortable. It can't sleep 2 adults comfortably and really should be changed out for a new queen sized bed. Other than that our stay was fabulous! Also we were able to arrange a little later checkout with the owner because we had later flights. He was very accommodating! Look no further! Book now!"

  • i miss it!

"So myself, mum, dad and brother stayed in Breda's apartment over Christmas and New Year for 16 nights and it was the best decision we have ever made! The apartment is located in a friendly, safe and convenient location. There are cute diners, restaurants, grocery stores etc located around every corner and at reasonable prices as well. Fairways supermarket is a couple of blocks away and has everything you need from organic vegetables, fruits and anything else you need! The subway is a pleasant 10 minute walk and is on the green line so you can get a train directly to midtown in a very short period of time. The apartment itself is very sweet and is definitely comfortable and provides a home away from home. You feel as though you actually live there while you are staying there and I was actually quite sad to leave it. The four of us (all adults) fit quite comfortably in the apartment however any more than 4 would be pushing it. The kitchen area is great and Breda provides every appliance you could possibly need for cooking meals. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anybody travelling to New York, and if I ever go back with either family or friends, I will definitely book this place again."

  • No surprises is a very good thing

"I am an ex-NYer who came back for business and pleasure for 3 weeks last month. I usually stay with friends but not for a period this long. I saw this unit online and did my first HomeExchange rental. I was extremely pleased with following: 1) owner and his orientation to apartment and building services and his guidebook- very hands on and helpful, even with my bags both coming and going also; 2) unit- it looks exactly as you see it on the listing- very light, bright; 3) Location is perfect in mid-town where I needed to be- 30 min walk to theatre district and Grand central subways are 5 minutes away; 4) cleanliness-I am vary wary of bugs given my prior NY history. Not 1 bug did I see in the unit or building!!; 5) internet worked like a charm; 6) large closet with lots of hangers; 7) it's on a street, not avenue so relatively quiet; 8) People in the building that I met were nice and they even had a December holiday party in the lobby for the residents and staff- very well attended (this did not happen in building when I lived in NY). FedEx, Dagostinos, Shake Shack are a stone's throw away and owner told me there's a vegan bakery at block's end. Only downsides- everything is white so as a red wine drinker I had to be very cautious. Even coffee grounds will stain a counter if you don't wipe them right away. Teeny kitchenette- not really practical for making a meal, but simple stuff (oatmeal, toasting bagel, reheating takeout, making coffee, etc.) works fine and for a small fridge you can fit a lot in. I suggest owner get some place mats and coasters given the "white" situation and wash cloths for bathroom would be nice addition too. Would definitely rent from him again and recommend to others. Additional note: if you try to make a pickup reservation with SuperShuttle online the address shows up as a hotel and SS charges a surcharge for hotel pickups, so you need to make your reservation by phone to save the $20+. The doorman did tell me that it used to be a Hilton many moons ago."
