  • Great apartment, great building, great neighborhood, great host

"I've been using VRBO for more than a decade, have rented dozens of places all over the world, including several VRBO stays in NYC. None of my experiences, in New York or elsewhere, has been better than this one. The apartment is a gem: More-than-adequate for me as a solo traveler, clean, simple/tasteful furniture, very usable kitchen, clean modern bathroom. The place was immaculate. The neighborhood is of course perfect, right in the heart of midtown, just a block away from the 50/Broadway 2,3 subway. The lights of Times Square constitute the view, and it's really quite wonderful, more so because the sounds of the street were barely audible, excellent soundproofing. The front desk/security staff is friendly and helpful. And Chantale has been the ideal host: responsive, cheerful, helpful. A first-class experience, all the way around."

  • The best place to stay in NYC - we'll definitely come back!

"We stayed in the apartment for 11 nights and simply loved it! The apartment is perfect, the location suberb and the owner - Peter - SO nice!! When booking the apartment, the contact with and information from Peter was even better than hoped for. Quick replys on emails and not at problem that we arrived after midnight (as we've experienced elsewhere). He'd even put out some fruit if anyone needed a snack! It's very convenient that he lives next door if anything is needed (not that it was). The apartment is spacious - everything you'd need is there (towels, linen, tea towels) - and the city right outside the door (awesome location)! We would highly recommend this rental - and will definitely be coming back!"

  • Oasis in the city

"As I sit in this lovely apt. on our last morning here, enjoying a cup of tea, I just had to write to say how much we enjoyed our stay. I’d say the main attraction of this apt is location. Right off of 5th Ave., 3 blocks from the Empire State Bldg Observatory Entrance, and 2 subway stops from Times Square, this apt is ideally situated for exploring the city. I counted 3 main subway stations within walking distance of the apt! The apt is on a direct line to the 911 Memorial (R Train), to Times Square (R Train), Lincoln Center (no. 1 train) and to Bloomingdales (No 6 train). There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Take a right out of the bldg and walk to the end of the block for a great convenience store/deli, where I purchased our breakfast each morning to bring back to the apt. Delicious bagel sandwiches! S'Mac, on 33rd and 3rd is also an easy walk from the apt and offers wonderful dishes at a great price! There is also a Bread and Butter on 5th Ave and 31st that literally offers anything you could want to eat, from Korean food, Japanese food, Italian, to NYC deli. They offer a great hot buffet that is very reasonable. The owner was very responsive to any requests I had and was a true delight to work with. He provided a detailed account of the neighborhood and the location of all amnenities one might need, including laundry, gym, and grocery stores, as well as restaurant recommendations. The apt itself is very comfortable and provides everything one might need during their stay. Tom has thoughtfully provided umbrellas in the closet, tea and coffee in the cupboard (along with many other condiments and toiletries) and the bed is one of the most comfortable that I have ever slept in. There is a full bathroom, including a tub. Those who are in the city for business will appreciate the large desk and desk lamp along with free wifi! The a/c worked wonderfully and was much appreciated during the muggy summer days. I can’t think of a single thing lacking in this apt. It was just my son and I on this trip, but there is a blow up mattress, so I’d think a family of 3 would also be quite comfortable here. The only caveat I would offer is that it is a 4th floor walk up, which might be challenging to the elderly or those with very young children, but for us, it was a welcome way to work off the delightful food we enjoyed in the city. Thanks again Tom for a wonderful stay."

  • Chelsea French Chateau

"Our family of five spent a long weekend in NYC and were lucky to have found this property. The beds are comfy, the neighborhood is quiet and the owners very helpful. Our train was very late, but Sondra waited for us to arrive and we were greeted graciously. The subway is convenient, and if you like pizza, try Rocco's, just around the corner on 7th Ave. We will stay here on our next trip if at all possible."
