Fantastic Location, Amazing Neighbourhood
"Myself and two friends shared this lovely apartment for just under a week in mid October. As a former NYC resident, I was excited to visit the city again and stay in my favourite neighbourhood - the west village. This apartment was incredibly convenient with two subway stations within blocks, and walking distance from many fantastic shops, restaurants and places for delicious cocktails. We definitely noticed the subway rumble, but the location, the courtyard (which we retired to every evening and were very grateful for) and the wonderful hosts in John and Luca made this a great Airbnb find. Highly recommended."

"This review is by Gretchen, Bruce, Kevin & Denise, travelers from Los Gatos, CA. We’ve been to Manhattan countless times over the years and wanted to spend more time and stay in a neighborhood instead of midtown. Greenwich Village beckoned us and we explored possibilities. The apartment on 8th street kept coming to the top of the stack so we reached out to Christine. We arranged our 3 week stay and let the remaining pieces of our travels fall into place. What fun it was staying in the west village - walking distance or a metro hop to every place we wanted to visit while in Manhattan. We loved the wine shop down the street, OTTO’s a block away, and Babbo nearby. We found the closest Trader Joe’s near Union Square. Washington Park was our first stop the afternoon we arrived. There are so many parks to explore - we visited one each day. Eataly was a destination for us both for shopping and a dinner/cooking demonstration. The laundry two doors down was a good fluff and fold experience.
Now - about our apartment. We signed our agreement confirming our stay in August 2014. Arriving by cab from the train station on a Sunday in May, we were instantly “at home.” The living area was welcoming and full of light. As we explored the space we discovered all the amenities we read about online and many more. We loved the book that contained lots of shopping and dining and “how to use the television” - and "who to call" if you cannot figure something out. We made a couple of calls to Christine during our stay and she was very helpful. We felt right at home. There was a heat wave while we were in town and the AC kept us cool and comfortable. We had breakfast in every day - enjoyed having cloth napkins and placemats- nice amenities. Several times we cooked dinner - recommend the fresh fish, poultry, sausages, fruit and veggies from Agata & Valentina on University Place. If you are getting pasta, go to Eataly and have a gelato while you visit. The kitchen is set up well for food prep and there are lots of cutting boards and tools. If you eat in - you will use the dishwasher a lot - it is small but does a good job. Each of us brought our laptops and did some work in the “office” while we were visiting. It was great having a printer. Since we had so many wifi devices, the wifi got a little slow. We loved the spacious great rooms and were very comfortable with our bed and bathrooms. Prepare for a comfortable stay in a lovely, clean home. ;>"

"A cozy place in the centre of West Village - for us definitely the best neighborhood to live in Manhattan. It's like a cool small village within the big city. Many restaurants, cafes, bars and parks in walking distance - we would'nt want to stay anywhere else.
Everything as shown in the pictures. You can feel the spirit of the owner Barbara (who must be a nice person), you feel a lot more at home as in any hotelroom. The bed ist fantastic - very comfortable! The bathroom a bit small but sufficient and economic (hot water all the time, many mirrors and space to put the toiletries). Aircon in living- and bedroom.
You really can't ignore the mentioned Subway. The whole place is shaking for a few seconds everytime a train passes below. But we got used to this after a short time and we found it more funny than annoying. At night we didn't notice it at all.
We didn't meet John as Luca happenend to be around - we had a great welcome and everything went perfect - thanks again.
We'll definitely return to this place !"

"My nephew and I came in April of 2015. We had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations and easy acçess to all the activities New York has to offer. We were met at the crack of dawn by the owner himself and immediately felt welcomed and taken care of. Not only did he go out of his way to meet us 3 hours before the normal check in time he answered all of our questions and made a speedy departure so we could rest up after our flight from the west coast. The apartment is located in a great walking area with several restaurants and grocery stores for convienent shopping for those neccesities needed for our stay. I can't say enough about how happy we were to have found such a great place to stay.
I would also like to say how much I enjoyed communicating with the manager who was very helpful and made the booking process seamless."
