  • Charming . . . indeed ! ! !

"After reading so many reviews through the years, I think it might be important to know that this review is being submitted by a couple in their mid-40's who are active, love to travel, and enjoy eating well, and who have been to NYC several times. That being said, this apartment/house was absolutely perfect for us. It was beautifully furnished and decorated, very clean, and the owners used the space so wisely. Also, I could write a paragraph devoted to the shower, but I will leave it at . . . there is plenty of hot water, and it is a powerful shower that seemed at times more like a sauna or steam treatment. Awesome! The description and pictures are very accurate. The owner was also kind enough to be flexible in accommodating our check-in and check-out times because of our flight times. Yes, it is beside a small, busy restaurant, and you can hear some kitchen activity at times, but we did not find it disturbing at all. We loved the neighborhood, and also found it to be an easy walk to either of the 2 subway stops nearby. Bottom line: If possible, we would stay here EVERY time we visited NYC. The restaurants that we most enjoyed were: Colicchio & Sons, Balthazar, Gramercy Tavern, Minetta Tavern, Suteishi, and Boqueria SoHo. Other diners/food places that we really liked were Sarge's Deli, French Roast, Faicco's, and Murray's. In past trips, we have experienced and enjoyed the tourist "mainstays." This trip, we enjoyed strolling The High Line, The Cloisters, the Financial District, Battery Park, The SeaPort, and Washington Square Park. For other fun, evening entertainment, we saw the Broadway musical, Chicago, we listened to live music at Terra Blues, and we visited Raines Law Room. A review is simply one person's opinion, so do your "research" and find places and attractions that interest you . . . and your fellow travelers. I hope you will be as lucky as we were to find a great place to stay."

  • Wonderful visit to NYC!!

"My sister and I stayed at this apartment for four nights and we absolutely loved it. We enjoyed the neighborhood and it was very close to the subway. Luca was extremely helpful and John was very nice too. You can hear some noise in the apartment and yes the subway runs under the apartment, but you are in NYC, what do you expect? The noise or the subway never bothered us at all. We were so tired when we came back from exploring the city that we slept like rocks in the super comfy bed. The photos in the apartment was very nice too. The overall feel of the apartment was very nice. It gave us the feel of being real New Yorkers for a few days and was way way better than staying in a hotel. If you do stay here, you have to eat at the Grey Dog on Carmine street, it is delicious. There are several places down Carmine to eat. The neighborhood in General is nice and it was convenient from the airport. We would definitely recommend this apartment and hope to return again for another visit in NYC."

  • Incredibly Comfortable, Spacious Apartment in an Ideal Location.

"My wife and I stayed here for the week of Thanksgiving in 2013. I wish we had known about this apartment on our previous trips to NYC and not spent double the money for a third of the space and comfort. The best thing about Honored Guest Properties (also check out their listing in Villefranche sur Mer) is that they are fully furnished apartments that feel like the owners actually lived there for an extended period, so *everything* is provided. If you feel like picking up something from the multiple markets nearby and cooking, you have every cooking implement you could ever want. There are loads of guidebooks and other tour guide references as well. The apartment is wonderfully decorated and full of little luxuries like Elizabeth Arden bath towels (drool). The best things about this rental are: - Location. You cannot ask for a better location in Manhattan. It is central to everything worth seeing. It really gives you the best of Chelsea and the West Village. - Space. This rental is amazingly spacious for two people and can easily accommodate four. We stayed here for a week but could have easily stayed here for six months without feeling like we're tripping over each other. - Comfort. There are a million things to see and do in NYC but if you're exhausted from the day's adventures or the weather is miserable, it is very tempting to sit on the sofa, pop in one of the owners' CDs, read a book, and look up now and then at the beautiful skyline with the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building in full view. We consider this apartment our new home in NYC and look forward to staying there again in March 2014."

  • Helpful people and wonderful place to stay!

"We stayed in both the Salt Suite and the Hamilton Suite during our stay. We enjoyed both for different reasons and would definitely recommend either. The location is good, the building is safe and there are only a handful of units. Both apartments had good amenities and sufficient space for two, even when entertaining others. However, the best part was the people. Once in NYC, our assigned representative was very responsive, going above and beyond to answer questions and provide help when needed. He had lots of suggestions for the neighborhood. We were so thankful for him."
