  • Lakefront Home Away from it all

"We had a lovely 4 days at this house on the shore of Lake Ontario. There are five bedrooms so we were able bring our adult son, and our adult daughter and her husband were also able to join us. The house itself is roomy, clean and quite comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. It even comes with cable television and WiFi. There isn't a beach to speak of; there are steps leading into the water. We didn't choose to swim in the lake, but my daughter and her husband were able to launch their kayaks from the backyard. Mostly, we enjoyed being able to sit and read with a glass of wine and look out at the lake. The yard was big enough for us to play croquet with the set that comes with the house. We drove to nearby Lakeside Park one morning to play disc golf. The biggest drawback is also one of it biggest assets. It really is away from it all. We had trouble finding a grocery store. But there are plenty of farm stands in the area and an EZ Mart in Lyndonville, which is about 15 minutes away. However, if you plan to stay here, bring groceries with you or be prepared to do some driving. Overall, we had a lovely time here, and if you're looking to get away from it all, this is a nice place to do it."

  • Just amazing!!!

"Wow!! I wish that could sum up the over all experience we had here. From the first moment we walked through the front door we were blown away. So well taken care of, so original to the time period it was built, and so spacious. I can see why the manager noted that younger children may not be a good idea for this place. A lot of items to break and so many original details to the house that cannot be easily replaced. Every room is so different and so beautifully decorated. All of the rooms were clean, especially the bathrooms, the manager even has the bathroom shelf and kitchen stocked with cleaning stuff. Our hostess was very nice and helpful. Surprising mature for someone who looks so young. She gave us directions, and info about the area. Recommended local restaurants and even left us a bottle of wine. My niece enjoyed collecting the little pouches of hershey's kisses that were left on our pillows. We had a wonderful time even though it was the dead of winter. Thankfully the distance is so short to the Falls from the rental because it was so cold outside. I would highly recommend this place, especially because it is so close to the falls."

  • Great view, great house

"Can't beat the view here. A great house and the owner just recently made a lot of improvements. Everything is great. We especially enjoyed the pool, hot tub, firepit and the pool table. Kids loved the foosball table and fishing off the dock. Owner, Glenn, gave us some great tips and advise. Highly recommend"

  • Our 2nd stay just as nice as the 1st!

"My husband and I stayed at Joe's house to spend the long Columbus Day weekend with our son, who attends college nearby. This was our 2nd stay at this warm and inviting cottage, and it felt like we were coming home again! Loved it the first time; loved it again. Joe is quick to respond to inquiries and is a most accommodating host whose main concern is making sure his guests are happy and comfortable. The house is within walking distance to beautiful Wilson-Tuscarora State Park and a short driving distance to many other areas of interest. Be sure to check out Olcott Beach ~ a quaint, charming, and pet-friendly town on Lake Ontario. We were fortunate to have glorious fall weather, and enjoyed using the fire pit one evening. The stars looked close enough to reach out and touch! Joe's home in Wilson is clean and well-equipped, and in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Most definitely recommend! Thanks, Joe!"
