"Stayed at the Butterfield Cottage with my two pets for six days for peace & relaxation. The only thing I heard were the birds and the waves; it was very peaceful. Everything was provided from cooking utensils to bathroom essentials. Stayed within the boundaries so not problems from the neighbors. This was just what I needed! Will definitely stay again."

"My family and I stayed for a short vacation to see our extended family before the kids have to go back to school. We have stayed at many rentals in the area, this one truly was by far the nicest we have stayed in. Alicia was a wonderful hostess. She gave us directions to grocery stores, recommended places for us to visit and where to eat. She told us the history of the house and how she grew up there and now lives there when she doesn't have guests. She brought her baby with her Jack and he was very sweet. Very, very shy but sweet. It's nice to hear that Alicia grew up there because you can definitely see her love for the house in the way that it is so well taken care of. I was really surprised at how close the house was to the Falls. We were able to leave our car at the house and walk to most places. Our first morning there Alicia stopped by with muffins and bagels and some hot coffee from a place called Tim Hortons. It was so yummy and I was glad because we didn't have to worry about breakfast and we could just get the kids ready and go out. The house was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I joked with Alicia that she might have OCD because there was cleaning stuff in every bathroom and in the kitchen and everything was so well organised and well looked after. Just a word of caution. The house has a lot of vases and decorative stuff. Make sure you keep an eye on younger children. Its not a huge deal we just made a rule for our girls not to touch things on the shelves and you may have to move a couple of things out of reach. The garden outside is very beautiful. It has a kind of wild look to it but it is very nice. We were very pleased to see so many birds around the yard. Cardinals, blue jays, lots of humming birds and tons of butterflies. It was very magical and my daughter loved going out into the back yard (which is huge by the way) and looking at the butterflies. We even saw a couple of rabbits and 3 chipmunks. We were told not to feed them which is a good idea because they already seem a little to comfortable with people around. The chipmunks came and sat on the picnic table while we were sitting about 4 feet away around the fire pit. Probably the best feature of the house is the sound of the river can be heard and seen from the house. Even with the windows closed we could hear the sound of the river and see it a little bit through the trees. We will definitely choose to stay here again in the future and recommend it to our friends."

"From the first moment I stepped into the Bungalow I was just awestruck. Literally, a "wow" must have left my mouth as I entered each room. This place has so much character and history!
This hidden gem is perfect for a family traveling together, which is what we were doing on our visit. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out, however, there was also great common areas for us to spend time together. I could also see this place being great for a scrap-booking retreat, there is plenty of table/workspace available.
Julie and Robert were great hosts. We arrived late in the evening our first night and Julie made herself available to give us a tour/orientation of the property. The next morning I was amazed at how large the property actually was (hard to tell initially because of our late arrival). The grounds are very well maintained, plenty of trails, and a feeling of serenity all around the area but also great space to have a small and fun get together.
There are plenty of activities to have on property (volleyball, horseshoes, croquet, barbecue, etc.) as well as places nearby to explore. On property, I myself enjoyed the relaxing in the hammocks and walking by the pond...oh and climbing up to the the tree house! One morning I even enjoyed a cup of coffee on the porch while watching a dear hang out and enjoy the grounds too.
The location of BF Bungalow was perfect. My family visited Letchworth, did a tour of some of the vineyards at Finger Lakes, went to Niagara Falls. Julie and Bob offered tips on things to do and the best places to pick up a few necessities.
I wish our stay was longer, as I would have also like to explore the many acres nearby. When I'm in the area next, I will most definitely be checking in to see if this home away from home is available."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The views and peacefulness of the home were exactly what we wanted. There was lots of birds and wild life to add to the ambiance. Absolute paradise. Maureen was there to greet us upon arrival and give us a personalized tour and instructions, directions and advice. It was a wonderful peaceful get-a-way. I highly recommend a stay. There are nearby attractions like state parks, Niagara Falls and quaint towns if that is what you are looking for too."
