"Most relaxing much needed vacation in a long time!!!! Maureen and Darcy thank you so much for everything!! Your cottage is beautiful an immaculate. Everything was perfect we loved quiet times eating at the table inside an out watching the beautiful view of the lake. My husband loved the hammock in the afternoon with a good book and the fire pit at night. We can't wait until next year to come again or we may sneak a weekend in when it snows its just a great place for a couple. Wish we could've stayed longer!! See you soon ( HOPEFULLY)."

"The apartment is very neat, clean and comfortable, and has all the amenities we needed (washer and dryer was very helpful). Also, it is conveniently located - just down the street from Goat Island (Cave of the Winds), Observation Tower, Maid of the Mist, and the Rainbow Bridge (for pedestrian crossing to Canada). We were a party of 2 adults and 2 teenage children (grandchildren), so the accommodations worked nicely (3 full-size beds).
As noted in one of the other reviews, the basement apartment doesn't have any direct views to the outdoors - windows are opaque. Also, the pictures accurately show that the beds are not in discreet bedrooms. The accommodation is like a long studio apartment, with two of the beds having curtain dividers, and the third being in the open. These characteristics were not a problem for us; we really enjoyed our stay here."

"Cute cottage but very small. Our family of 4 was fine but, when our 3 friends came to visit, it was way too small as there was no place for us all to sit and eat (in or out). Excellent location for access to the private beach. The backyard needs a lot of work as it is mostly dirt and weeds and the fence needs repair. Overall if the beach is why you are going there then this is the place."

"My family and I stayed for a short vacation to see our extended family before the kids have to go back to school. We have stayed at many rentals in the area, this one truly was by far the nicest we have stayed in. Alicia was a wonderful hostess. She gave us directions to grocery stores, recommended places for us to visit and where to eat. She told us the history of the house and how she grew up there and now lives there when she doesn't have guests. She brought her baby with her Jack and he was very sweet. Very, very shy but sweet. It's nice to hear that Alicia grew up there because you can definitely see her love for the house in the way that it is so well taken care of. I was really surprised at how close the house was to the Falls. We were able to leave our car at the house and walk to most places. Our first morning there Alicia stopped by with muffins and bagels and some hot coffee from a place called Tim Hortons. It was so yummy and I was glad because we didn't have to worry about breakfast and we could just get the kids ready and go out. The house was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I joked with Alicia that she might have OCD because there was cleaning stuff in every bathroom and in the kitchen and everything was so well organised and well looked after. Just a word of caution. The house has a lot of vases and decorative stuff. Make sure you keep an eye on younger children. Its not a huge deal we just made a rule for our girls not to touch things on the shelves and you may have to move a couple of things out of reach. The garden outside is very beautiful. It has a kind of wild look to it but it is very nice. We were very pleased to see so many birds around the yard. Cardinals, blue jays, lots of humming birds and tons of butterflies. It was very magical and my daughter loved going out into the back yard (which is huge by the way) and looking at the butterflies. We even saw a couple of rabbits and 3 chipmunks. We were told not to feed them which is a good idea because they already seem a little to comfortable with people around. The chipmunks came and sat on the picnic table while we were sitting about 4 feet away around the fire pit. Probably the best feature of the house is the sound of the river can be heard and seen from the house. Even with the windows closed we could hear the sound of the river and see it a little bit through the trees. We will definitely choose to stay here again in the future and recommend it to our friends."
