  • Lakefront Home Away from it all

"We had a lovely 4 days at this house on the shore of Lake Ontario. There are five bedrooms so we were able bring our adult son, and our adult daughter and her husband were also able to join us. The house itself is roomy, clean and quite comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. It even comes with cable television and WiFi. There isn't a beach to speak of; there are steps leading into the water. We didn't choose to swim in the lake, but my daughter and her husband were able to launch their kayaks from the backyard. Mostly, we enjoyed being able to sit and read with a glass of wine and look out at the lake. The yard was big enough for us to play croquet with the set that comes with the house. We drove to nearby Lakeside Park one morning to play disc golf. The biggest drawback is also one of it biggest assets. It really is away from it all. We had trouble finding a grocery store. But there are plenty of farm stands in the area and an EZ Mart in Lyndonville, which is about 15 minutes away. However, if you plan to stay here, bring groceries with you or be prepared to do some driving. Overall, we had a lovely time here, and if you're looking to get away from it all, this is a nice place to do it."

  • Completely blown away!

"I have to start out by thanking the manager and her family for letting us stay at there rental and for being so awesome. Secondly I want to tell every other future guest about how amazing this place was. For what we paid for this place we didn't expect to get as much included as we did. We were provided soaps, shampoo & conditioner, bath salts, and my wife even gotten dissolving bath rose petals that we have never seen before. Our children were happy to find toaster pastries and cereal provided for them and my mother in law used the pancake mix that was provided to make waffles. It was cold outside and sometimes old houses are a bit drafty and cold but not this one. The place was very warm and comfortable. We enjoyed our complimentary wine and sat in the living room catching up on things. My daughter and my niece were fascinated with the many dolls that are display in many parts of the house and they were a bit disappointed that they couldn't play with them but they got over it. LOL. I guess the doll collection belongs to the lady of the house (Alicia) and they add a nice touch to the decor. Each room has a different theme and is so well decorated and clean. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed, paper towels, dish soap, linens, spices, etc. There was even a little kids table in the dining room for the kids to sit at during meals. We got to meet Alicia's son Jack and the children in our family played with him a bit and Alicia even brought down some of his toys that they put away when guests arrive. You rarely meet a host or hostess that is as warm and inviting as she was. She stayed at least an hour and told us about the house and previous owners, answered all of our questions ( as we had many) and showed us a guest information book that had EVERYTHING in it. When I say everything, I mean everything. Directions to bars, gas stations, liquor stores, restaurants, coffee shops, churches, emergency contact info, hospitals, grocery stores, shopping, even the most recommended places to eat and shop. You name it, it was in there. That is what I'm talking about when I say, we got waaay more than we expected with this place. The amount of time and hard work it takes to make a book like that, how clean everything was, we jokingly asked Alicia if she had OCD. Not to mention the gifts and breakfast, you won't find that anywhere. We will definitely be back, no question. You have to check this place out we had a wonderful time and you will too!"

"There is nothing to say, except WOW! If you like the country and nature, this is the place to be. The hosts were accommodating and non-intrusive. There is plenty to see and do within 30 minutes to 1 hour. The bungalow is amazing, restful and beautiful."

  • Left us good memories!

"Annual family reunion with grandparents and teenagers. An old house but surprisingly everyone found their way to enjoy. Never expect a board game can have so much fun. The dancing wii game made us go to buy one after back home. Relaxing in the pool with the wonderful view was unforgettable. Doggy friends are bonus, they were so friendly, wish can spend more time to play with them. Sunrise was so amazing while our stay. Location is very good to the state park. Drive-in movie was a bonus too. Kitchen need a better stir fry pan. And wish have a hair dryer there, we forgot to bring one. Oh, beds are so comfortable like home. This farm house is wonderful."
