  • Long-term renters

"We have been renting this property for six consecutive summers. We began with one week, decided on two the next year and have been renting three weeks ever since. We can't get enough! First of all, how can you go wrong with waking up to the sound of the waves on the beach and ending each day with a spectacular sunset on Lake Ontario. The cottage, itself is rustic and charming. It is well-kept and allows ample space for entertaining, preparing meals or just relaxing. Outside, plan to spend long, sunny afternoons reading on the beach, swimming, collecting beach rocks, or any number of other activities. The owners are friendly, responsible and responsive. If you need anything, or anything comes up, a quick phone call is all it takes and they're in action. If you're looking for a nice "getaway" for your family, I highly recommend checking out this cottage. You'll be happy you did!"

  • 3 years running...

"We had the pleasure of being one of the first "guests" when this marvelous cottage became available 3 years ago. We have come back each year because of all it has to offer and the outstanding setting. I know there are many properties from which to choose along the lake, but we have never been tempted to look anywhere else. Lake Ontario showed many of its moods this year, but allowed for several days of kayaking and fishing. Charters are also available for deeper water fishing. I used John Miller and had a very good time, even if the fish were "resting". Grocery and many other stores are less than 2-4 miles from the property. You can get anything you might need or want, or even go shopping for the fall. Downtown also has many shops for a day of exploration or check out the museums on the rainy day(s). The sunsets here are almost always amazing. It all adds up for making a most relaxing and refreshing stay! The cottage itself offers great flexibility. You can use all of it or just parts, depending on how many folks are there. As it is all on one level, with only one step in a place or two, it is easy to navigate for those with some limitation. Everything you need is there. You really don't have to bring anything except your personal items. There are even two kayaks and a number of fishing poles for those who wish to give it a go. (Larger folks, like me, may wish to bring their own kayak, however, as the two that are there are more suited for average to smaller sized persons.) As you read these reviews, you will see how much we have all enjoyed being able to stay here. It should continue to be noted that direct access to the lake in front of the cottage is limited to the more fit. There is, however, a path off the property, through the adjacent park, that will get you to the water about a 100 yards down. When the water is rough, much of the stone covered beach can be inaccessible due to the wash of the waves. (It makes for wonderful photography, however!) We have no doubt you will be happy with a stay here. It truly is a wonderful place in every way with something for everyone. Thanks to all who make this cottage a welcoming place!!"

  • Very well appointed boathouse

"This is a very nice family unit, Allison is great we had a small issue and it was taken care of immediately. She also rents boats which is great you can get it all done at once. It was hot this week but looking over the deck at the fish swimming below makes you feel cooler. Gas grille for cooking out this unit has it all in a very nice area of the thousand islands. Will definitely stay here again."
