"Nice quiet location on Chippewa Bay. Just far enough from Alex. Bay to make it private but easy to get to for shopping and restaurants. Clean well kept cottage.Comfortable beds and living room furniture. Awesome deck and dock space, although not suitable for larger boats due to the water depth. Public boat launch 5 minutes away. Fishing of dock yielded large mouth bass, northern pike and lots of little perch and crappie. Safe boating and tubing in the bay, 15 minute boat ride to Singer Castle and fishing grounds. My two teenagers caught 3.5 and 4 lb. bass off Cedar Island, 10 minutes boat ride away. Great swimming at north end of Cedar Island at state park. No TV reception so bring your favorite DVD's. Several VCR tapes and DVD's at cottage. Decent Verizon and ATT cell service. Lots of wildlife sitings at cottage including many chipmunks, huge bullfrogs, lunes, cormorants, geese, and an owl.
Washer and dryer at cottage was a bonus."

"We enjoyed a very relaxing stay at a beautiful well appointed Cape Vincent cottage. The cottage had everything as described and was a wonderful home away from home while we were on vacation. The owners were very helpful with boat launch information as well. We hope to return again next year!"

"Four of us spent a splendid week at Elderberry Cottage in August. My husband and I previously owned a cottage on Wellesley Island and know the area very well while our friends were first-timers. Linda and Marty are the ideal hosts--they are right there if you need anything but absolutely respectful of your privacy. The cottage is very well equipped, especially in the kitchen, where all the basics are there to enable you to cook in as much as you like without spending a lot for condiments and flour for example. We especially appreciated the kayaks, swimming in the protected cove, the barbecue, and perhaps most of all, seeing the huge freighters coming and going close enough to clearly see the seamen aboard. The region is one of the truly unique places left in the US, unspoiled by the sameness so typical of most vacation places, with plenty to do and one couldn't make a better choice than this to enjoy it. Be sure to visit the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton."

"Family of 5 plus an in-law. We had such a great time in the 1000 Islands, and this cottage is the culmination of "life on the river." The place forces you to relax and wind down. We were surprised by how many things we didn't need to bring with us because the cottage was so well equipped! View was spectacular. Bring binoculars or telescope if you have one...they come in handy not only for stargazing but also for zooming in on ships. One drawback is the number of spiders - the cottage is very clean but it's a cottage by the water after all so you're going to encounter them. Also, not recommended for toddlers because of the steep staircase that leads down to the water. Great for kids 5 and older though."
