  • Great Place

"What a great place for a Family reunion and Golden Anniversary celebration. We had the whole 1880 House to ourselves with our 18 people. (Could have slept at least 10 more--lots of beds!!) The grandkids enjoyed the "man cave" in the lower level, for games and TV. They also were able to work the stairs to the top floor for sleeping. All utensils ever needed were available and the kitchen and outdoor grill and refrigerator were great for cooking when we wanted to. Only drawback was that not all bedrooms have air conditioning/good outside air circulation, so a couple evenings were a little warm, but that was no real problem. Plenty of parking and the view from the various rooms and balconies were fantastic. Lots to do in Pulaski, but the most fun as expressed by grandkids was the whitewater rafting down the Salmon River. Had a great time and the weather was perfect."

  • Simply Magical!

"Our vacation at Elderberry Cottage was relaxing, restorative and beautiful. I was in a party of six, myself, my husband and our children aged 6, 8, 9 and 10. Each of us was taken with the house and grounds and enjoyed the amenities provided by our gracious hosts. We spent lots of time enjoying the natural setting, kayaking the inlet, fishing galore and hanging out in hammocks or by the fire pit. The location is close to many of the area attractions with convenient access to Boldt castle and gorgeous state parks. The kitchen is well appointed and the grocery is not far at all. In fact, it is amazing how close things are because when you are on Wellesley Island, you feel far from all of the trappings of modern times. The owners were nearby if needed and helpful and even went so far as to provide passes to the Boat Museum, hints, directions and even a lesson on how to filet a fish. The cottage and grounds are immaculately kept with lots to offer in the way of down-home entertainment. You could have a great time without ever leaving the property. This vacation ranks at the top of our "favorites list" and we look forward to revisiting again in the future. That says a lot considering that pleasing six distinct personalities is no small feat!"

"A great time was had by all! We can't say enough about the Chalet and location. We had everything and more that we needed for a fabulous stay. Lisa wants your kitchen!! LOL. She and I took turns cooking some great meals there and did not need to buy a thing, except our groceries. It is all there folks!!! Just buy your fresh groc. in town and be sure to include marshallows for the fire pit in the cool eves.. This place was a HUGE improvement over our previous stays in the area. Everything worked!! Wonderful fishing, walks (safe) on country roads , rock collecting, picking wild apples (yum) and beautiful wildflower bouquets, and the list goes on. This is a slice of heaven for sure and you need not even debate where to stay if you are looking for a safe and great place. Oh, did I mention the top of the line matresses. So if you are tired of the hype of older , perhaps homes closer to the river or Lake Onterio. FORGET IT! Drive the extra mile. Just go out the Chalet back door, grab some fishing gear provided by Dave and Roz and jump in your elec. boat or kayak and GO FISHING. Or walk across the street to fish for steelhead and salmon. What could be better?? Plus, did I mention that Dave and Roz are the best! We also enjoyed the towns pizza, stromboli (delivered ) and ice cream and farm cheese stores. There are parks and orchards nearby and lots of fun for the kids. Do not hesitate to make this your next vacation stop. You will not be disappointed. Thanks so much Dave & Roz. We loved your NY home and will look forward to our next visit."

  • Enjoyable Week of Rest.

"A great place to stay for a large family. The old victorian house was just great and modern enough to make us comfortable. Loved the extra stairway to the kitchen and all the extra space. Boat house was so convenient for our two boats (ski and small fishing boat) and two kayaks. Kids loved the platform (and so did the adults). Round Island is quiet and peaceful. It is out of the main channel but you can still see the big ships. Clayton is only 5 minutes away. Kids went and got pizza by boat one night and we had went on many ice cream runs after dinner. ABay is only 25 or so minutes away too. Perfect spot for a quiet vacation."
