  • happy, happy memories

"Words cannot describe my great feeling of having arrived when we docked at Friendly Island. The island's gracious owner who rents her glorious place to allow others to share and experience pure joy and solitude whille breathing deeply and loving all the amenities fit for a king or queen, as they say. I loved relaxing, barbequing, swimming and having fun offering the "Queen's Wave" to the touring boat passengers and one night, listening to a rich, baritone voice singing Irish ditties, wafting over from Alexandria Bay. There was always a cool breeze at night and my stay here on Friendly Island has given me an experience with only positive vibes remaining and which I will cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you, Ellen for making Friendly Island not just a label but a reality. We appreciated all the labour and love that went into the creation of your island for all four seasons to boot."

  • Great family vacation cottage

"Our family of 10, including 3 young children and one teen, so enjoyed our stay at Sis and Larry's cottage. Plenty of beds and the loft worked well. As we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to see a small wooden playground under a shade tree which was great for our grandchildren. The tennis court was a big hit with them as well as the beach a couple hundred feet away. On 90 degree days, we were so happy to have the central a/c and the grandkids enjoyed the DVD player built into the upstairs TV. Bring some DVDs, games and your bikes! Spring water was provided for drinking and the kitchen was small but pretty well equipped. The owners were very friendly and live nearby which is helpful. Fourth of July weekend brought lots of fireworks. Tops supermarket in Pulaski was very easy to find as well as a few other stores and fast food restaurants. Sandy Island State Park has a terrific beach on Lake Ontario and is a little tricky to find but well worth it. Some of the adults went white water rafting on the Salmon River with Adventure Calls Outfitters and had a blast but recommend checking other places that may offer helmets because people can fall off the raft and it is rocky and fast at times. The home was clean and very modern. There are 2 other smaller cottages on the property, which are not advertised, but might be nice if more than one family wants to stay. All in all, we would highly recommend Sis and Larry's cottage. They are very trusting and easy to work with. Thanks for a great vacation!"

  • Location Location Location!

"What a beautiful cottage. Every morning we sat in the sun room lapping up that view. We could not get enough of it. We took day trips exploring the area. We went up to Cape Vincent, saw the lighthouse, checked out Clayton and Alexandra Bay. Uncle Sam's tour of the Saint Laurence is a must do, We spent some time poking around back bay roads from the cottage to Pillar Point. We now know that bay and can safely say, there is no better view on the bay than the one this cottage offers. The pictures can not do it justice. You immediately feel at home here. The cottage is tastefully decorated in the motif you would expect of a house on a lake. This cottage is very clean and well maintained. You can tell the owners take pride in their summer home. My only regret was having to leave. My wife loved it, so did I and would come back in a heartbeat .You will not be sorry spending your vacation here."

  • Beautiful Waterfront Cottage

"This cottage has extraordinary water views, and a front porch with comfortable furniture for enjoying those views. The area has lots to see and do, including its proximity to the Thousand Islands. Good restaurants within a reasonable distance. Ft. Drum is not far away if one is visiting family posted there. Inside the cottage, it is quaint and spacious. The fireplace with its gas insert was cozy and warm on cool September evenings. The place is well appointed in the kitchen, although we didn't do much cooking! The weather was wonderful. We had a very nice week"
