"Four of us spent a splendid week at Elderberry Cottage in August. My husband and I previously owned a cottage on Wellesley Island and know the area very well while our friends were first-timers. Linda and Marty are the ideal hosts--they are right there if you need anything but absolutely respectful of your privacy. The cottage is very well equipped, especially in the kitchen, where all the basics are there to enable you to cook in as much as you like without spending a lot for condiments and flour for example. We especially appreciated the kayaks, swimming in the protected cove, the barbecue, and perhaps most of all, seeing the huge freighters coming and going close enough to clearly see the seamen aboard. The region is one of the truly unique places left in the US, unspoiled by the sameness so typical of most vacation places, with plenty to do and one couldn't make a better choice than this to enjoy it. Be sure to visit the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton."

"What a unique and amazing experience. First off; the island is beyond anything I expected. Its a vacation paradise. Solitude with class. Its hard to describe the awe inspiring beauty; the clarity of the water; the sunrises and sunsets were like nothing I've ever experienced. Our group of teens and adults relaxed; played hard; enjoyed boating; fishing; sightseeing; the quaint town just across the river, the swimming pool; sauna and did I mention the views. Nothing prepared me for having my own island for a week. The grounds were meticulously maintained and Ellen was always available to answer questions and to make sure everything was to our liking. From simple things like a neighbor playing the star spangled banner every morning to black squirrels cackling at strangers in their land I felt like I went back in time.... a time of luxury and relaxation. There also was a wonderful fire pit where we spent hours just talking and laughing and seeing more stars than i've seen in ages.
Just go. You will love love love this property; the owner and the peace and tranquility of one of the most beautiful area's I have ever visited"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at this cottage. We were amazed at the activities for children. The playground was a 2 minute walk from the door to the left. The St. Lawrence River a 2 minute walk to the right. The family enjoyed jumping into the river from the dock at the Pavilion and also the small beach at the cove. Multiple activities are available a short drive away in Clayton or Alex Bay. The cottage was roomy, beds were comfortable and very clean. A delightful area and we loved the Victorian homes and small streets."

"The townhouse is beautiful and practical. Our family (8 adults + 2 children) enjoyed it very much. Owner is a pleasure to deal with. Property is convenient to the park and downtown. Docking our boat and jet ski right outside our door was great. Boating through the gorgeous islands was beautiful. A short distance across the river we found some nice areas to water ski. Fireworks on Heart Island were great to view from the park on July 5th. The number of cigarette boats (large boats with above water engine exhaust) on the weekend was deafening; making use of the waterfront area impractical."
