"What a great place for rest, relaxation and retreat from the real world for a while. The cabin was extremely comfortable, clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We spend many hours on the decks watching the sunrise, reading, birdwatching and enjoying the splendid view of the Blue Ridge mountains. The owner was very cordial and responsive to any needs we might have. We would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to others. We hope to return soon."

"This is such a sweet cabin! It was perfect for myself and my dog. She has issues with her hips and to be able to walk straight into the cabin without any steps was perfect. There is not a gate, so I took a baby gate to keep my dog contained on the large wrap porch. This is NOT a complaint, just something that I chose to do on my own; actually a lesson learned from trips to the beach. The rocking chairs and swing on the porch were perfect for watching the cows across the road, as well as reading. I will definitely book again for a long weekend."

"This is honestly the first time I have ever reviewed anything in my life. I felt compelled because so rarely in life do things work equal to or better than promised or expected. Our stay was originally for Friday the 12th but we made such good time driving that we found ourself a couple of hours away the day before and the owners let us stay the night before free of charge...we were shocked.. We have been so used to paying for half day rentals that this was beyond accommodating ...then we got to the cabin and it was in pristine condition ...no smells ...no dirt...no remnants of previous guest...couldn't see much outside because of the night but could hear the water rushing at the bottom of the property...woke up in the morning to just an incredible sight ...the trees the water the views the PRIVACY...secluded secluded secluded...yet 10 min drive away was Galax Va where we took the kids to see Jurrassic World 3D ...just opened day before....point is cabin gives feeling of middle of nowhere but your at movies and restaurants in minutes...we tubed the river we played horseshoes we barbecued and just relaxed in the hammocks .. Inside plenty to do ping pong video games board games and great wifi...then the topper...the wildlife...aside from the horses surrounding the property ...we had a few baby deer that would wobble right up to our porch every morning...rabbits...cows ...all around. It's just incredible...finally the cabin is modern but rustic and had way more room than we needed ..it was just perfect...this is our new home away from home....I've rented many Carolina cabins over the years and never had such perfect hosts or surroundings...thanks riverbend"

"I would recommend this cabin for a family wanting some quality relaxing family time. Because of the lack of Internet and wyfi it makes you find other resources of entertainment. Reading, watching movies, walking, live conversations with family... or short trips to play in river or canoeing.. It was nice to just be still and rest my mind from the outside world. The cabin it self was beautiful and comfortably furnished. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking inside or outside. There was lots different styles furniture on both decks to fit anyones needs. We ejoyed a short trip over the mountains to visit West Jefferson. There were watched the process of making cheese and then dinner at Shattly Springs.. This would also make a nice retreat location."
