  • Absolute Perfect Getaway

"The property was amazing, we loved that it was out to its self, but close enough to town that you didn't have to drive far to do things. The horses were an absolute joy, our son got to hand feed, which he had never done. They were so gentle. We even saw a bear crossing the road going to Banner Elk! We all just loved the cabin and the location. The cabin was well stocked with all you need and the sun room was our favorite spot in the cabin. We can not wait to go back and hope to stay at the cabin again. Mary was a so nice to talk to and gave us great directions to get there. Over all we had an excellent trip thanks to Mary and her beautiful cabin."

  • We had amazing long weekend at the cabin! We can't wait to visit again!

"We enjoyed horseback riding at Dutch Creek Trails, trout fishing at Grandfather Mountain Trout Farm, Linville Caverns and shopping in downtown Boone. Most importantly, we loved the cabin and all it had to offer. The kids (teenagers included) loved the trails, the water and of course the hot tub. The weather was beautiful and we woke up to a snowfall on Sunday morning. Due to the wind, a tree fell across the driveway, blocking our vehicles...the highlight of the trip for the kids was meeting and helping "Mr. Robyn", the groundskeeper, cut and load the wood onto his truck. We shared interesting conversation and it gave the kids a glimpse of his life without electricity (OR a TV)! I wish we could have met him the first day! This was, by far the most fun we have ever had on a vacation; you never had to leave the grounds to enjoy yourself. Outdoor cooking is perfect with all the equipment you can imagine. Thank you, Mr. Nelson for sharing such a beautiful place."

  • Wonderful cabin, great location

"The pictures don't do this cabin justice. We spent a 4 day weekend at Valley Creek Cabin with my in-laws (4 adults + 1 child + dogs), and the layout allowed us all our private space, as well as very roomy common areas. Families with more children could easily fit here by using the bunk beds in the loft (which we didn't need). The decor is very cozy (we told our little girl that it was like Gaston's lodge, from Beauty and the Beast). The cabin is very conveniently located (not far off a major road), and allowed us easy access to Boone, Grandfather Mt, Linville Falls, Linville Caverns, Blue Ridge Prkwy, and Blowing Rock. We'd return to the cabin in the evening, and enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub. The price was very reasonable for everything that you get in this cabin. We'll definitely look at returning again."

  • Great Escape

"We spent 7 days in this fabulous cabin. The view of the mountains are breathtaking! My boys loved the foosball table and we all loved the hot tub. We cooked almost every night and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare the meals. The owners are easy to contact and very helpful. Couldn't have asked for a better place for our vacation."
