  • Great Ski Week for Floridians!

"We had record breaking temperatures-a couple blizzards-But great access to the mountain! When the weather was real bad-we walked! And the road the house is on was perfect for sledding! The house was cozy and perfect for a family of six!The sleeping loft in the second bedroom is great! We enjoyed the fireplace all week-there was plenty of wood in the neighborhood! It was well worth the twelve hour ride!"

  • Great Christmas Memories

"My wife and I visit the North Carolina Mountains a few times a year, and had a wonderful time this Christmas. The home is located overlooking a beautiful section of the Beech Mountain Golf Course where we saw deer every day we were there. One day, a family of deer even walked by the kitchen window-- so peaceful! Perfect setting for us to go to a local Christmas tree farm and get a wonderful Christmas tree to make some great holiday memories We loved preparing most of our meals in the nice kitchen, and the rest of the house has plenty of soft beds and quaint sitting areas for every taste. Too chilly to really enjoy the outdoor area, but a nice fireplace and table outside would be great in the spring and summer! Beech Mountain is a little world all by itself, but some great resources in town. (Loved Fred's General Store.. they have EVERYTHING!) Home is about 20 minutes to Banner Elk and the ski areas, all on curvy but well-maintained roads. Spent some time snow tubing on a small but very pretty Christmas day snow! Loved the trip and will always consider the mountains a favorite travel spot."

  • Spacious Condo and Close to Beech Ski Slope

"This condo worked out perfect for 2 families looking to spend time together and go skiing. It was spacious enough that everyone had plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies which was great for us as we enjoyed cooking and eating together. The short drive to the ski slope was great for early morning skiing. We did have a few challenges while we were there (the water was out upon arrival and the washing machine wasn't working) - but the property manager (Stacey) was extremely helpful and made sure that things were taken care of. If we are in the Beech Mountain area again we would definitely stay at a Place to Unwind again."

  • Perfect Home with Perfect Location

"Our Boy Scout Troop rented this house to go skiing for the weekend. This home housed 6 boy scouts and the leaders and wives that went with ease. The home was easy drive to Ski Beech and provided plenty of room for everyone. We woke up Saturday morning to deer in our backyards which was amazing to see. We spent the day skiing and returned to the house where we relaxed and enjoyed take out pizza from Brick Oven Pizza (awesome food, but kind of expensive) We are already planning our return trip to this house next year....as they say in real estate, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION.....if skiing is what you are wanting to do, this is the perfect house for going to the slopes and being able to drive back to the house and return as needed!"
