"We had a great time there for Thanksgiving. We had 4 adults and 4 children and everyone was entertained and comfortable the whole time. I slept wonderfully and we made good use of the fire pit at night. Our turkey turned out awesome and we found everything we needed to make a great family holiday. The drive to and from is beautiful but the road up to the house is not for the faint of heart. It is very scenic but please take you time getting there."

"Four of us stayed in River Rose cottage a week, and we all left loving it.
Since I enjoy furniture restoration and love old houses, this 1920's built home was even more special than many nice Bed & Breakfast places I have stayed in Charleston, Savannah or elswhere. Having Chimney Rock mountain itself directly off our front porch was amazing. It rained every day but we had a beautiful Tuesday afternoon that we spent at the city park/marina/pavillion on Lake Lure just around the cove from where scenes of the movie Dirty Dancing was filmed. We caught a lot of nice size perch and met a lot of nice local residents out walking. One young fly fishing guy even later in the week took some members of our party to his own favorite fishing spots. The Ingles grocery store a few minutes away was more than excellent as were its friendly workers. I was surprised to see a large group of about 25 elementary school kids maybe 5, 6 or 7 being led from area to area in the store with the different workers in the meat department and pharmamacy demonstrating to the kids what their departments were about. I've never seen a field trip to a grocery store before. We also were impressed to later later learn that actor Nick Nolte has a house around Lake Lure and frequently shops at that same Ingles. I walked to several of the gift shops in Chimney Rock Village and was pleased to find that the gift shop items were reasonlably priced and the employees were very friendly. We didn't meet a single person we didn't like the whole week. We also appreciated how well stocked our cottage was, the remote control gas logs, the two wonderful screened in porches and beautiful surrounding area with all the dogwood, red maple and others trees and gorgeous white, pink and dark red azaela bushes. All in all a memorable time."

"The house was very cozy and well equipped for a family of four. Ann provided all the essentials we needed to make our stay comfortable. She even left an Easter surprise for our girls. We truly enjoyed our weekend at Chimney Rock."

"This is my families second time to this wonderful cabin and it was as great as we remembered. We decided to return for New Years, as we just couldn't fit any more fun into our days the first time we stayed. I can't say enough about the cabin and the nice folks who own it! The setting is absolutely beautiful and we drank our coffee on the outside deck with the water right below us! Even though it was a little chilly out, we couldn't resist bundling up and spending as much time on the deck as possible. It is just too beautiful! The cabin itself is very charming and spacious. The furniture was perfect for the mountain setting, and the beds and couch were very comfortable. Apparently the owners just bought a HUGE flat screen tv that we were the first to use. But let's face it...we didn't spend much time indoors. Asheville, The Biltmore, The Grove Park Inn, Chimney Rock State Park, Dupont State Park, Hendersonville, and several other parks with beautiful waterfalls were all calling our name, so we did it all! Would highly recommend this home for anyone wanting to stay in this area. We have stayed 5 nights both times we went and couldn't fit everything in that we wanted to do! May have to plan trip number 3 to this beautiful cabin."
