"Where do I begin? This place was amazing! Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and just 30 minutes from downtown Asheville, this is the place for you if you're looking for a quiet retreat. The pictures online don't even compare to the real experience. Even in winter it's gorgeous!! Upon entering the cottage, you're immediately entranced by its welcoming warmth and vibe. With a quick glance around, you'll find local honey, coffee, handmade soap, and goodies in the fridge (eggs, corn meal, and the most tasty jam you've ever had!) This place has it all... gas fireplace, cedar soak tub, grill, adorable decor, and so very clean!!! I'm seriously OCD about cleanliness and was pleased as punch with this place. While sitting on the patio you can hear the creek running past the cottage and birds chirping away. So cozy!! You can tell a lot of thought and love went into the making of this cabin. Dawn and Stephen were so accommodating and kind. We happened upon Stephen one day when we were exploring the farm, as he was shelling some heirloom corn in an old crank from the late 1800s. We couldn't help but ask all kinds of questions and he wasn't the least bit bothered by our incessant questioning. We loved walking around visiting the farm animals and Sam, a Great Pyrenees, was such a friendly companion. The farm store was a great way for us to buy some items to take back with us. Local items are for sale (pottery, soap) as well as more honey (we had to have more!), eggs, and frozen meats. We drove to Asheville for dinner one evening, but really didn't want to leave the cottage. As we were leaving it started to snow and we both felt a little sadness as the cottage and farm disappeared from our rear view mirror. I'm not a huge fan of vacationing in the same spot twice, but I would love to return here again one day!!!"
