"We spent a month here and loved every minute of our stay. It was the most relaxing vacation we have been on. The house was perfect with everything you could possibly need. The surrounding area was great for dog walking at the Reservoir and the Greenway, hiking at Stone Mountain Park,, golf at Brushy Mountain and Lenoir, going to the YMCA, fishing, and playing tourist. The Wilkesboro Museum is worth seeing too. Such fun!!"

"This place is absolutely beautiful! We love the mountains and we love the water...this was the best of both worlds...We spent the first part of the week on our honeymoon then brought the kiddos up for the last half for some family time. Very well equipped and perfect for anyone! We would definitely recommend this beautiful waterfront cabin for anyone looking to just get away from it all!"

"I really loved the combination of beautiful views and usable yard and land. From the deck, Mount Mitchell is right there, along with Mt. Hallback, Mt. Craig, Big Tom, Balsam Cone, and Cattail Peak, looking across the valley and several mountain ridges, setting up an awesome sunset view. The yard in front of the house is a great setting for Frisbee, and I also loved the horse shoe pits. But the top of the hill where the big fire pit is located gives the best views; I counted 7 ridges looking west. There is also a cool path that leads into the national forest from here. The area up top is large enough to play baseball, and we created our own Frisbee golf course that took us all over the property. The house itself is very nice too, but the outdoor setting here is the best part and where I spent most of my time. I always look for a rental in the mountains that has a good view, but often the view is all you get with the dwelling positioned on a cliff of some sort without usable land. Eagle Mountain has several wonderful open grassy areas that are practical and fun to use. This place is now on my favorite list and I will recommend to all my friends."

"We're looking for a place that can accommodate big group. With 10 families with us, we need a spacious place, a functioning kitchen, and large dining area plus a space for our night activities (singing/playing bingo/dancing) as well as we need a space for teens (playing videogames/wifi connection/tv area for teens). We all got it at Great Escape Lodge. John Warthman (the owner) is easy to talk to... he has a ready answer for all our questions. The website helped a lot with what to expect, places to go, things needed, things not needed, map, room assignments, what to bring and etc. The place is clean and spacious. For sure, we will be back and will recommend it to our friends. Again, thanks for letting us create a memorable Spring Break."
