"Our family of 4 stayed for 5 nights in early July. The view was just as advertised. After our pontoon boat tour of the lake, we came to realize that it is probably one of the best to be had. We appreciated the easy access to the lake and enjoyed using the canoe and fishing from the deck. There were a couple of rafts though only one was functional. We searched the stores in the area and finally found a raft at the beach shop which we left for the next visitors to use.
The weather was quite hot during our stay. The window air conditioner did a decent job of cooling the cabin though the bedrooms were a bit warm unless the door was kept open. Ceiling fans helped and there were other fans available.
It was also nice to have the use of the grill. Lake Lure is not a late night town so options to get food after 9 didn't exist. We made several trips to Ingles which was well-stocked. We had dinner at LaStrata twice and would recommend.
Definitely recommend the hike to Chimney Rock and strolling the shops in town.
Pro - excellent view, quiet and relaxing, easy access to the water, ramp made it easy to move luggage
Cons - deck is in need of repair; it is sagging and splinters are a problem. Cabin could use a deep cleaning to remove cobwebs and treat for bugs (ants)."

"Did not want to leave, and we will definitely be back. We've traveled extensively to many parts of the world, and this place was one of the very best. I won't repeat what is said in the other great reviews except to agree wholeheartedly with them, but I will add that a lot of thought was put into making sure anything we would want or need was anticipated and provided. This was a surprise, as we have stayed in many "rustic" places that don't provide anything more than a shelter, but Stone Mountain Serenity had it all. We would recommend this property to friends and family, and we will return...hopefully many times."

"The group I was with couldn't have been more pleased with this wonderful place. Comfortable and cozy without being cramped. Glen made us feel welcome and couldn't have been more gracious. We intended to camp during this time but storms in the area washed those dreams away, however, Angie's Sugar Shack was the found rainbow and pot of gold for us. The only downside? We had to go home. Highly, highly recommended."
