  • Great house at a great location!

"My family and I came to this place for snow skiing and ended up doing so much more. The house is in a great location. It is just a short drive to anywhere, whether you're looking to ski, tube, sightsee or just check out the beautiful area. I had never really thought about driving up and checking out Grandfather Mountain, but we rode past the entrance and decide to check it out which was amazing. Our ages ranged from 8 to 40 and there was so much to do that everyone was satisfied! There was a total of 10 of us who went on this trip and there was definitely room for a few more. This house has fantastic views on the upper and lower level of the house and the kids really enjoyed soaking in the "huge" hot tub sitting on the porch on the side of the mountain while it snowed. After staying here everyone agreed that if we go again next year, we're definitely going to Boone again and staying at this awesome house! To top it all off, the owner is extremely personable and easy to deal with! Thanks so much for letting us use you place!"

  • Good Choice

"We stayed at the Boone cottage for the second time from Sept. 20-26. We were pleased again with the uniqueness and privacy of this destination. The proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone, and West Jefferson make this a great place from which to explore the region."

  • Anniversary trip

"This rental was a last minute idea and was my second call. After the first choice rental didn't happen I called to book this cabin. I'm glad the first one fell through because this cabin was awesome. This place was clean and had all of the conveniences of home. My wife and I was looking for a place to get away and just relax and we found it. This rental is close to Boone and Banner Elk so there is plenty to do. Although this cabin is not in a secluded spot it was still very quiet and relaxing. Earl and Barbara, property managers, were very nice and easy to work with. We will definitely be booking this place again."

  • "Spectacular" is spot on.

"Stayed here the first week of June, 2014. Photos really do not do the place justice. It is every bit as advertised and then some. Renting the available pontoon boat is highly recommended. The entire outdoor stone fireplace terrace/grotto area is absolutely amazing, and if my wife and I could have somehow stuffed all of it into the trunk of our car to magically re-install at our home, we would have! Lake Lure / Chimney Rock is a wonderful place for a family vacation, with perfect water temperatures in the Lake, even this early in the summer. Rent this place and you will not be disappointed. You will be very sad to leave, though."
