"This is honestly the first time I have ever reviewed anything in my life. I felt compelled because so rarely in life do things work equal to or better than promised or expected. Our stay was originally for Friday the 12th but we made such good time driving that we found ourself a couple of hours away the day before and the owners let us stay the night before free of charge...we were shocked.. We have been so used to paying for half day rentals that this was beyond accommodating ...then we got to the cabin and it was in pristine condition ...no smells ...no dirt...no remnants of previous guest...couldn't see much outside because of the night but could hear the water rushing at the bottom of the property...woke up in the morning to just an incredible sight ...the trees the water the views the PRIVACY...secluded secluded secluded...yet 10 min drive away was Galax Va where we took the kids to see Jurrassic World 3D ...just opened day before....point is cabin gives feeling of middle of nowhere but your at movies and restaurants in minutes...we tubed the river we played horseshoes we barbecued and just relaxed in the hammocks .. Inside plenty to do ping pong video games board games and great wifi...then the topper...the wildlife...aside from the horses surrounding the property ...we had a few baby deer that would wobble right up to our porch every morning...rabbits...cows ...all around. It's just incredible...finally the cabin is modern but rustic and had way more room than we needed ..it was just perfect...this is our new home away from home....I've rented many Carolina cabins over the years and never had such perfect hosts or surroundings...thanks riverbend"

"We just came back from our Christmas ski trip. Overall, this condo was great. It was close to the slopes about 10 minutes driving (4miles). 2 bedrooms and nice living room were enough for us. We mostly cooked so we used kitchen all the time. We found everything we looked for in the kitchen. Staff working there were all kind. Pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi were great after long day skiing. First two days were perfect the last day people started to come and we could not be able to park our vehicle. They told us to park down the hill and use the minivan which takes you to the condos. Even for dropping off the parents and the baby I needed to wait 20 minutes on the lower gate which security does not let you to go up the hill until some other vehicles comes down. Other than parking everything was superb. I highly recommend the place and i hope they can find another solution for parking."

"Our stay at this great Lake Lure House was very relaxing, even though it rained most of the time. We had one great day on the pontoon boat on the lake seeing the fall colors. I hioghly recommend Lake Lure.
Tim, the owner was very helpful with pre arrival questions and Debbie, the caretaker was very accomodating with us.
The house has lovely views of the Lake and long range mountain view. There are over 120 steps down to the lake so its important to be mobile enough to make the round trip. Landscaping is quite natural. Everything was clean and comfortable.
The boat is a nice addition to the house and makes for extra value.
I would definitely come back."

"The house was beautiful with a great deck and incredible views (especially at sunset). Two mornings we watched a golden eagle making lazy circles in the sky. The house was comfortable with a great kitchen. The area is excellent for a family vacation as there is a lot to do. We went gem mining, took a spin on the ropes course at the Tweetsie Railroad, went to Grandfather Mountain, explored Linville Falls and Caverns, did some kayaking, and finally went to the Blowing Rock. The Mast General Store in Boone was a big hit with the kids. There were good restaurants, including some of the best Mexican food I can remember at a place in Boone.
Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy a great vacation."
