"This is our 4th or 5th stay at this property and it never disappoints. We've enjoyed getting snowed in during the winter (although they take such good care of the roads up there when it snows we were only snowed in for a couple hours because I'm a very cautious driver). During the winter the indoor pool and various winter sights and sounds (and beautiful views) occupy us. During the summer we enjoy the wonderful outdoor pool. There are a lot of interesting things to do in the area no matter what your interests. My favorite thing of all is sitting on the deck, sipping some coffee and enjoying the peace and quiet and extraordinary views down the mountains. Already counting down the days until we can return."

"My wife and I visit the North Carolina Mountains a few times a year, and had a wonderful time this Christmas.
The home is located overlooking a beautiful section of the Beech Mountain Golf Course where we saw deer every day we were there. One day, a family of deer even walked by the kitchen window-- so peaceful!
Perfect setting for us to go to a local Christmas tree farm and get a wonderful Christmas tree to make some great holiday memories
We loved preparing most of our meals in the nice kitchen, and the rest of the house has plenty of soft beds and quaint sitting areas for every taste.
Too chilly to really enjoy the outdoor area, but a nice fireplace and table outside would be great in the spring and summer!
Beech Mountain is a little world all by itself, but some great resources in town. (Loved Fred's General Store.. they have EVERYTHING!) Home is about 20 minutes to Banner Elk and the ski areas, all on curvy but well-maintained roads. Spent some time snow tubing on a small but very pretty Christmas day snow!
Loved the trip and will always consider the mountains a favorite travel spot."

"My wife and I were searching for a quick weekend getaway. Rosemary worked with us on short notice and we had a wonderful weekend on the mountain. We were awakened to a light and peaceful snow fall and we had the mountain to ourselves. The cabin is charming, warm, comfortable and provides the privacy and tranquility needed for a relaxing get away. Rosemary is great to work with, the cabin is wonderful and the property is a mountain play land! Running Waters lodge really has everything you need for a mountain adventure and/or get away!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Barry and Connie's house on the mountain side. We walked and rode the trails surrounding the house. Barry has lots of well maintained trails on the property and he generously encourages his guests to enjoy all of it. He has a nice covered picnic shelter and fire pit (and supplies the wood) up at the top with horseshoes, which we enjoyed. We made smores and roasted hotdogs there. Barry and Connie are the perfect hosts and bend over backwards to make your stay perfect. The dryer broke and Barry immediately went to Lowe's and bought a new one and had it delivered and installed. They are the nicest people I've ever rented from on VRBO or anywhere else for that matter. We took a raft and rented inner tubes to go out on the New River, visited Mt. Jefferson, the Ashe County Cheese Factory and Lansing. We recommend this location if you want to get away from it all."
