  • Loved every minute!

"So happy with our choice to rent this property for our Thanksgiving week together! Very convenient to meet our daughter coming from school in Virginia. Such a beautiful house, felt very lucky that the owners are willing to share! The house itself is beautiful, loved the open living area with the fabulous wall of windows and fall view. Very well equipped kitchen which was much appreciated. Beautifully furnished, lots of comfortable sitting and great beds and linens. Husband watched football upstairs while we watched Downton Abbey downstairs on the large screen. Had some great pool and air hockey games. Great breakfasts at Huckleberry's (shrimp and grits!) just around the corner and loved Larkins on the Lake. Am in love with Lake Lure and the house is a great location, close to everything but very private and quiet. Saw "A Christmas Carol" at the FlatRock Playhouse, a wonderful experience. Best pizza ever at the Wood Fire Grill just 5-10 minute drive from the playhouse. Imported their pizza oven from Italy and pizzas taste just like Italy! Great fall vacation! We had lots to be thankful for. My daughter said she wants the same Thanksgiving next year. Thanks to the owners for sharing!"

  • Our Trip

"My family, wife and I, 3 girls (14,17,18) had a wonderful time here. We went to Asheville one day, about a 45 minute windy drive. Watched the World Cup soccer because the cabin did not have ESPN, surprising. Chimney Rock is 10 minutes away and has lots of good hiking trails, we all liked that. We went to the Linville Caverns, 1 hour away, which was fun and then went to the Linville Falls which was very close. Good hiking and cool waterfalls. Best part of the trip was going to Saluda and Green River Adventures to do white water rafting. Much fun. The cabin has everything you need."

  • Very Nice Home

"We enjoyed this nice home very much. Great porches and view of Mt. Mitchell and the golf course. You can hear the S. Toe River as well. Home is very clean and well equipped, including a grill. The wi-fi is excellent and while cell phones don't work, the owner graciously allows use of the land line for any incoming our outgoing calls. Convenient to exploring Burnsville, Spruce Pine, Mars Hill, Asheville and of course Mt. Mitchell. Golf course is excellent and in superb shape. We plan to return and enjoy again!"

  • Everything they said it was

"Coming from Florida we took a chance and scored. The house was clean and has a great layout. We hiked to Big Bald and thoroughly enjoyed the top of mountain view. We even got some snow and were able to build a snowman and have a snowball fight. The best tube run was about a 15 minute drive. Although we did not go skiing we visited the Wolf Ridge ski lodge and would give it a thumbs up. Kids had fun. Parents had fun. I want to come back and go golfing this summer."
