"My husband and I stayed for a 4 day weekend and really enjoyed ourselves.
We cooked every meal while there, and ate them all on the deck. The deck has a lovely view, outdoor speakers, and plenty of space. We had amazing weather so we were lucky enough to spend the majority of our time outside.
Basically everything we needed in the kitchen was provided. The kitchen is small and a bit cramped while cooking, but 1 person can fit in there to cook. That's all we needed! Plus there's a dishwasher so that is very helpful! We used the grill on the deck to make a couple meals and that is quite handy. There were very few nearby choices for dining out, but we expected that and brought groceries. The trip to Marion is long due to winding roads (not mileage), but its not too bad if needed or wanted (we went for delicious ice cream!).
Access to the Parkway is quite close. We hiked at Craggie Gardens, Crabtree Falls, and Linville Falls, all off the Parkway. All were not too far for day trips and all are awesome. We also went to Roaring Fork Falls near the cabin and its lovely and secluded.
The neighbors ARE close. I assume this is often not an issue, as you can't really SEE them...but during our stay the neighbors were partying constantly and incredibly loud. This was a bit annoying, but not the chalet's fault in any way. It was Memorial weekend so I assume they were there to party (and possibly a rental also).
The Master bed is divine - so comfortable. We did not use the other room, but we love that we could invite friends here to join us in the future if we want. It would be fine for 4 people.
We brought our 2 dogs and they had a great time. They got to roam around outside, sleep in the sun on the deck, and go hiking with us. They were happy pups! Mainly they just came inside to sleep after exhausting days.
We did use the provided firepit and that is another great feature - we enjoyed that quite a bit.
We had absolutely no AT&T service (nowhere nearby), but the available wifi helped us be able to watch Netflix a couple times. Since we came here to get away, being a bit disconnected was lovely.
I would say that if you're looking for a small, rustic place to relax and be near hiking, this is the place for you. We'll definitely be back."

"My family really enjoyed this house. It was spacious and was well equipped. My only complaints is I wish the owner would take out the pictures of the sliding board and the paddle boat, because these are no longer there. Also, if you want to play bags you need to bring your own set because the bags themselves had holes in them. I don't think you should advertise something you no longer have as we were expecting these."

"Just got back from a wonderful trip! Serenity log cabin is beautifully appointed and immaculate. Located in a beautiful gated community with breathtaking views, this cabin is equipped with all the comforts of home. A safe haven to return to after a long day of activity. It is about 40 minutes to downtown Asheville, Chimney Rock, and a short ride to Linville Falls and Blue Ridge Parkway. We were a party of six and were very comfortable at the cabin. It was great to be able to use the kitchen to make breakfast and dinner. Heather is very easy to work with, and takes care of all of the details in an efficient manner. Can't wait to go back!"

"My husband and I spent three days at Hidden Lake with our 8-year old son and his best buddy on our last vacation. The cabin was beautifully kept and had all the amenities you want when you're trying to get away from the rat race for a bit. We took advantage of the lack of distractions (mainly no wi-fi) and ate long breakfasts with the kids and took naps on the screened porch. Weather was cool and inviting in July. Didn't expect that. After an invigorating hike at Chimney Rock, we spent a great deal of time at the pool and fishing dock (an easy two-minute walk from the cabin) and our city kids had a blast catching fish. Actually, they enjoyed the ones that got away just as much! The grandparents stopped in and took the kids to Linville Caverns nearby and the hubby and I took a kid-free drive and hike along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Everything seemed close and Marion had all we needed. Of special note was the Crooked Door Coffee House (when I needed wi-fi unexpectedly for a work crisis) and Bruce's Fabulous Foods in Marion with so many flavors of cheesecake I lost count. All of this and friendly neighbors! Theresa made the whole process so easy and was a welcoming guide for the area. I highly recommend this cabin and area for anyone visiting this part of NC."
