  • Best Summer Vacation Ever

"My family stayed here a week and had a wonderful time. I can't say enough good things about this home. I have never felt more at home in someone else's house. The house had everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked. Kudos to those who take care of this house. It was amazingly clean and much appreciated. On days when it rained, we still found things to do. We watched movies, played ping pong and cards. As others have said, the birds on the porch were such a joy to watch, especially the hummingbirds. We could have watched them for hours. In addition, a family of geese, including 6 babies, visited us every night on the dock. The location is perfect. We had the entire lake to ourselves most days. We didn't hesitate to jump right in. The Lake Lure area offered a lot of activities, and yet it was very quiet and relaxing. Coming from Orlando, this is something we relish. We also enjoyed the resort. Everyone was extremely nice. We tried stand up paddleboard for the first time. We saw all kinds of wildlife. Can you tell we had a great time? You will not regret staying here. Be sure to try La Strada Italian Restaurant. The food was delicious. My family is grateful to the owners for sharing their wonderful Chalet with us. We look forward to going back one day."

  • Lake Lure Cabin Stay

"We were looking for a budget friendly way to spend some time on Lake Lure, and found it with this beautiful quaint cabin. It is comfortable and clean and had plenty of space for the 7 of us. The floor plan worked out great with the two bed sleeping loft, one bedroom and one bath on the upper level, which is where the three young adult boys slept. The main floor bedroom and bath was where my husband and I slept, and the lower level had a bedroom, bath and bed area in the family room, which was perfect for the two young adult girls. The "kids" used the lower level family room for their hang out space at night. The kids enjoyed the boulder climbing in a separate area of Chimney Rock Park that was free and down the road from the main entrance. We rented kayak's for the kids, and a pontoon boat that we all took out in the evening and enjoyed a packed picnic dinner on the boat on the lake. We all had a wonderful and relaxing time and enjoyed our stay!"

  • Great family house!

"We had the best time spending Labor Day weekend at Lake Lure! Four adults and four kids had plenty of space to play, eat, and be together (and to be apart when one or more of the kids needed a little break). We had such a wonderful time swimming and kayaking off the dock that we didn't feel the need to leave the property all weekend. The kitchen is nicely updated. The rest of the house is homey and friendly and very comfortable. Be aware that most cell phones only work on the porch, and the internet is a bit spotty, but we were happy to unplug for the weekend. The owners were great to work with, and even the neighbors are friendly. Beautiful cove, great house. An excellent experience all around."
