  • Great Cabin

"We loved staying at the cabin. It is beautifully furnished, well kept with everything you need. Just a few miles from Rumbling Bald Resort if you want to rent SUPboards, kayaks, pontoon boat, etc and then you can hang out at the beach. Or if you prefer the community beach, you can drive just a few more miles for the public beach with slides. It is very close to Chimney Rock Resort and within an hour to Asheville. Lovely home to spend quality time with your family! The ONLY complaint is the sleeper sofa downstairs is nothing but springs so it was not comfortable at all for sleeping. I would definitely stay again and recommend this home for any getaway."

  • Fantastic views and great water access for swimming!

"Our family just completed a week at the Allen Cottage. We found the cottage and its amenities to be exactly as advertised. The cottage was very cozy and comfortable with ample places to relax as you would wish for. The large deck is perfect for sunning, sitting in the shaded side, or just watching the boats going by all day. The swimming area is safe and deep, ample floats, life jackets were available. The location was on a side road with little to no traffic to take away from the beauty of the lake. We found the cottage to be very clean with everything we needed to prepare great meals. We would definitely return if the opportunity arises. Thank you to the responsive owners."

  • Don't pass this place up!

"This place was amazing!Absolutely beautiful! The kitchen was stocked better than my own.Everything was nice & clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub & I send a HUGE thanks to Robert for having it ready. It slept our family of 9 with zero problems.(the 9th being a toddler) The 3rd bedroom has bunkbeds. You can't walk to the resort area from this house.....well you can but you will have to be nuts to do so.Therefore,I suggest renting their golf cart.Checkin went smooth & I'm thankful Robert escorted us to the home. This neighborhood is easy to get "turned around" in at night.I suggest arriving during daylight. There was a few cons but nothing major.Around 1:00am the lights went out.I thought the breaker tripped because Robert advised you can't run the jets & heater at the same time for the hot tub.We called him several times w/no response because we couldn't find the breaker box for the home. This home did not have flashlights so we had to fumble in the dark until we walked down the extremely dark road to see if the neighbors had lights. They did not. There wasn't a storm or any bad weather for that matter. We also got lost another night & tried calling Robert for help w/no response. We assumed each time he was asleep. We seen him at check in but he did not come by for check out nor did he follow up asking if we enjoyed our stay.He was very very nice but hard to reach therefore I give it 4 stars."

  • Beautiful comfy cottage!

"My sister and I stayed at the cottage for a girls weekend. The cottage was perfect for our needs and in a great location! Close enough to everything but far enough away that it was quiet. The house was well appointed and everything was spectacularly clean! I couldn't ask for anything more. It really helped us to have a great vacation!"
