"Some family members and myself spent Thanksgiving at this lovely retreat. House was clean and offered all the comforts of home We were fortunate enough to see some deer while there. Thanksgiving buffett at Rumbling Bald was wonderful Very convienent location to many attractions and neighboring
towns The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a getaway Eat at La Stradas on Lake Lure and be sure to try the sweet potatoe fries with caramel pina colada sauce The only downside is the water pressure in the kitchen could be better Other than that there are no cons associated with this rental"

"We just spent the Weekend at Papa Bob's cabin and the whole family loved it! The VIEW was breathtaking! Our family usually likes to travel to different spots instead of the same vacations spots over and over, but this spot sold us. This is our favorite NC vacation spot! We will be back again."

"My husband and I have stayed in quite a few cottages. Five Oaks is by far the cleanest, coziest and most relaxing of any. David and Penny (owners) have provided every amenity you could ask for. The kitchen is a cooks delight. The bed was very comfortable. Perfect size for a couple. One of the best perks was the use of a canoe. My arms are still sore from all the canoeing we did. Chimney Rock is a few miles away. Don't miss. Also see the Flowering Bridge in Lake Lure. I can't recommend any restaurants because we cooked all our meals at the cottage. We did go to the historic district of Hendersonville for ice cream at Kilwins and bought bread at Underground Bakery.. Yummy. We highly recommend this wonderful little cottage. You won't be disappointed."

"How refreshing to find a vacation home that is dog-friendly and doesn't even charge an extra fee!
The one thing the owner asks of you is that you don't let your dog on the furniture. There is a fenced-in
back yard where your dog (or children) can play and a game room where your children/teenagers can
entertain themselves. In addition, there are 3 flat-screen tvs (in the den and 2 of the bedrooms).
When we walked in the front door, we knew that the many reviews for this house were accurate.
From the welcome basket and note on the table to the many extra kitchen supplies and condiments,
we could not have asked for anything more. This owner truly knows how to make guests feel welcome
and relaxed. Thank you for a wonderful week!"
