Recent Lake Lure reviews

  • Beautiful house, beautiful lake.

"Our extended family (couple in 50s, couple in 30s and 11 year old) enjoyed a week at Moose Haven and were so impressed with the property and working with Exclusive Mountain Properties. From the initial booking up until our post-vacation departure, no detail was overlooked and Susan made us feel truly at home. The house is well-appointed with authentic “lodge” artifacts (including a moose, elk and caribou mounts), the pontoon boat was a MUST if you’re staying on the lake and Lake Lure itself is absolutely pristine. A great vacation that I’m sure we’ll repeat in the future. I’ve decided I’m a “lake person” over a “beach person” now! Again, can not say enough about working with Exclusive Mountain Properties. They are a reputable company staffed by professionals who will go ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure your needs are met."

  • Not a detail is overlooked! A Perfect Gem!

"My husband and I wanted a few days "getaway" to celebrate his birthday and it could not have been better. The attention to detail was amazing - there is nothing that is overlooked and it seemed that when our hosts designed and planned the apartment our every need was anticipated. The apartment and the grounds are absolutely delightful - beautifully decorated for the season and charming accents everywhere....we thoroughly enjoyed our private patio listening to the trickling water in the water pond and admiring the flowers, all the garden art and and well thought out landscaping. What a delightful piece of paradise. After sightseeing all day in Asheville we came "home" and visited "the girls" in the beautiful chicken complex and loved watching them and then enjoyed cocktails on the covered flag-stone patio. Total relaxation! The apartment was spotless and the bed and pillows fabulous - we both had two amazing nights sleep! The kitchen has everything you need - I love to cook and was very impressed with the thought that went into preparing for our visit. I have not stayed at a condo that was as well-stocked at this efficiency. The apartment is on the ground level of the owners home but Evelyn and Chris are perfect hosts....Evelyn is very gracious - she greeted and welcomed us when we arrived and we met Chris and chatted with them both when we left. We had complete privacy and were able to relax and thoroughly enjoy the home. I love to garden and walking around seeing what they have done with the landscaping and plantings was very enjoyable - once again the attention to detail was outstanding and not a corner of the property has been overlooked. We even found the special stairway that goes down to a hidden creek! The efficiency apartment is a perfect size for a couple who just want to relax or plan to do sightseeing or enjoy the various activities of the area. It is one hour drive to Asheville, about 30 minutes to Chimney Rock and the Morse Park section of Lake Lure. We are already planning our next is only fair the we get to relax and celebrate my birthday in the Spring and we will definitely plan to stay here to do it!! Thank you Evelyn and Chris for making our getaway so perfect!"

  • Best Summer Vacation Ever

"My family stayed here a week and had a wonderful time. I can't say enough good things about this home. I have never felt more at home in someone else's house. The house had everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked. Kudos to those who take care of this house. It was amazingly clean and much appreciated. On days when it rained, we still found things to do. We watched movies, played ping pong and cards. As others have said, the birds on the porch were such a joy to watch, especially the hummingbirds. We could have watched them for hours. In addition, a family of geese, including 6 babies, visited us every night on the dock. The location is perfect. We had the entire lake to ourselves most days. We didn't hesitate to jump right in. The Lake Lure area offered a lot of activities, and yet it was very quiet and relaxing. Coming from Orlando, this is something we relish. We also enjoyed the resort. Everyone was extremely nice. We tried stand up paddleboard for the first time. We saw all kinds of wildlife. Can you tell we had a great time? You will not regret staying here. Be sure to try La Strada Italian Restaurant. The food was delicious. My family is grateful to the owners for sharing their wonderful Chalet with us. We look forward to going back one day."

  • Lodge was great for a family reunion

"The mountain views from the deck were absolutely stunning. The house was well equipped with plenty of room for our large family to socialize and eat meals together. Having two tables was so nice because no one ended up sitting separately trying to balance a meal on their laps. The bedrooms were large even with two sets of beds in them, and we found the beds to be comfortable. The house was clean and the furnishings were sturdy and complimentary to the rustic look. There was plenty of activities within the resort and also within close proximity to it. Our group ranged in age from 1 yr. to 65 yrs. and there was never a complaint from anyone that they were bored. I would recommend this house but people should be aware that the road and land going to it are steep so if anyone in your party has a mobility issue this may not be ideal for your stay. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pinnacle Peaks."
