"We came from Texas, Arkansas and Washington to have a family reunion. There were 19 total so we rented the Little River Cottage in addition to the Chimney Rock River House. The hardest part was deciding who was going to get which room, since they were all so lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing the river when sitting on the decks or with the windows open in the bedroom. Although the weather was not the best, we did manage to have a whole lot of fun. We hiked to hickory nut falls then on to the top of chimney rock. We enjoyed kayaking, zip lining, taking the boat tour of lake Lure and shopping in both Chimney Rock and Black Mountain. We cooked most of the time but did enjoy a few meals out at LaStrada, and Tia B's. Both are highly recommended. Rondi warned us that there would be more to do than time to do it and she was correct. It just means we will have to come back again to enjoy the rest of what we missed !"Guest: The Wet and Wild Family Reunion Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 5, 2014View listing
"My family and I were first time visitors to the Lake Lure. We were not disappointed with the area or the home. We had plenty of room, the home was very clean, and the kitchen handled all of our cooking needs. We enjoyed the deck, fire pit (smores with grandchildren), and the night sounds. Chimney Rock and Biltmore were our favorite places. We were concerned of bees per previous reviews but we were assured by Penny that the bee problem was taken care of, and it was. We certainly would love to return to Deer Meadow Acres and the Lake Lure area next year. Just beautiful!"Guest: Walt Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: September 2, 2014View listing
"Our family had a most enjoyable time while staying at Lure Me In! What a lovely home! From my first phone call to Sharon the process of renting the home was so easy. Sharon also was so helpful in answering my questions in the days prior to arrival. When we arrived, Heather was there to meet us and make sure we were taken care of. The beautiful home has everything you need for comfort and relaxation. We enjoyed the amenities of the home greatly. The hot tub was a favorite along with the fire pit. The bedrooms are so very comfortable and we had space for each couple to have their own bedroom and bathroom along with the grandchildren having a room of their own. It is such a quiet setting! From sitting on the deck to playing pool in the basement we didn't want to see our time end. It was so fun! We also enjoyed the surrounding area including Chimney Rock State Park and the shops in Chimney Rock. There are so many other points of interest that we hope we will be able to return in the future. Our whole family has talked about what a great time it was! Distinctive Mountain Lodging was wonderful to work with. Thank you for a lovely visit!"Guest: Leah Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 17, 2014View listing
"Stayed here the first week of June, 2014. Photos really do not do the place justice. It is every bit as advertised and then some. Renting the available pontoon boat is highly recommended. The entire outdoor stone fireplace terrace/grotto area is absolutely amazing, and if my wife and I could have somehow stuffed all of it into the trunk of our car to magically re-install at our home, we would have! Lake Lure / Chimney Rock is a wonderful place for a family vacation, with perfect water temperatures in the Lake, even this early in the summer. Rent this place and you will not be disappointed. You will be very sad to leave, though."Guest: The Cavalier Traveller Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: June 26, 2014View listing
