  • Perfect for family reunion

"Could not imagine a more perfect place for a special "Mom turns 80" family reunion. It was the perfect size for 7 adults and 2 children. The cabin is beautiful, with a well stocked kitchen, and the washer and dryer was a huge plus!! The bedrooms are large and accommodating, and the kids loved sleeping in the loft. The town of Chimney Rock was fun to walk around; the river walk is a must! And the kids (big and little) loved going to the Gem Mine to hunt for treasures. The area is beautiful, and most of the time was spent relaxing on a deck at the house, with a sporadic day trip thrown in. We would definitely like to go back."

  • Our Trip

"My family, wife and I, 3 girls (14,17,18) had a wonderful time here. We went to Asheville one day, about a 45 minute windy drive. Watched the World Cup soccer because the cabin did not have ESPN, surprising. Chimney Rock is 10 minutes away and has lots of good hiking trails, we all liked that. We went to the Linville Caverns, 1 hour away, which was fun and then went to the Linville Falls which was very close. Good hiking and cool waterfalls. Best part of the trip was going to Saluda and Green River Adventures to do white water rafting. Much fun. The cabin has everything you need."

  • "Spectacular" is spot on.

"Stayed here the first week of June, 2014. Photos really do not do the place justice. It is every bit as advertised and then some. Renting the available pontoon boat is highly recommended. The entire outdoor stone fireplace terrace/grotto area is absolutely amazing, and if my wife and I could have somehow stuffed all of it into the trunk of our car to magically re-install at our home, we would have! Lake Lure / Chimney Rock is a wonderful place for a family vacation, with perfect water temperatures in the Lake, even this early in the summer. Rent this place and you will not be disappointed. You will be very sad to leave, though."

  • Great place!

"We loved staying here. It is in a fantastic location and we thoroughly enjoyed the amenities at Rumbling Bald Resort. What a great way to vacation together. The house is beautiful - actually better than the photos portray. We cooked and baked all our own holiday food for four days over Thanksgiving and found the kitchen to be very well-stocked and supplied. So impressed with all of it. Would be happy to stay here again."
