"Excellent weekend getaway! This cabin is perfect - clean, has a cozy cabin feel, beautiful scenery, great location, and is stocked for anything you might need (movies, games, cookware, washer/dryer, etc.). The owners are extremely nice and made everything so simple. They even have a wonderfully organized binder that gives vacationers ideas for restaurants, sight seeing, rainy day activities, and so much more. It's clear the owners want to share their cabin and love for the area with vacationers. I highly recommend staying at the beary comfy chalet! We will be back!
Recommend all travelers make a stop at Otter Falls trail. It is right by the cabin and we were pleasantly surprised by the breathtaking waterfall and greenery!
Thanks again for sharing your cozy cabin!"

"My family of 4 enjoyed our stay. It was a time for us to relax and get away from the daily grind. We got to enjoy the rustic feel and the time together. We enjoyed the seclusion and nearness of the lake. Wish we had more time to really enjoy being on the lake, but we spent a lot of time travelling to other attractions, NC zoo and Linville Caverns. We took advantage of the game room and board games, which we haven't done in awhile. A little disappointment that there was no cable or satellite, but we took advantage of the DVD selection.
A few issues: no porch light first night but was fixed. No light in laundry room."

"My husband and I have been staying in the two bedroom roundhouse for at least 13 years now. We always stay at Thanksgiving, and have only missed a couple of summers, and most recently we began going up for spring break for the last three years. The home is always clean and decorated beautifully to me. The fireplace is also wonderful during winter months. I love to pull the big chair up in front of it and snuggle in with a good book. I love sitting there and watching the snow fall during the winter months. Even at our age we have taken advantage of the hills around the homes and done a little sledding. The weather is great up on the mountain even in the summer time. When we were there recently, the last week in July, it was so comfortable with a cool breeze and low humidity. We hated going home to Florida's heat.
The thing we love most about the homes is the quietness that surrounds the area, and the beauty of nature all around us. As I read the other reviews it brought back memories of the Blue Ridge Mountains and driving through it, along with visiting the caverns and the many other places. Now we just enjoy going up to rest and relax, to renew our spirits for a time until we can come back again. Just recently Gail mentioned to us that she was afraid we would become board with coming up and staying in the roundhouse because we have done it for so long. I assured her that there was no place we would rather be then there except for a Disney a Cruise, but those do not happen no where near as often as our trips to the round house. We are looking forward even now to Thanksgiving so that we can go back, then we will be looking forward to spring break and another trip up, and don't forget a trip during the summer. There is always things to find to do. Even visiting with the locals is great. We especially love to visit Cristy's Crapft Shop there on Pensacola, she knows all about the area and has great tales to share about the area, not to mention her crafts that I love to buy. Cristy has become a great friend over the years.
Anyone visiting in any of Gail's homes there on the mountain will love it. The homes are beautiful and Gail is wonderful and always willing to help in any way she can. we are so thankful she has the homes available, it is like a home away from home for us. Even children and teens we have seen in the homes while we are there seem to really enjoy it."
